Okay please ignore my incoherent Jmart ramblings. Or don't. Idk I'm not your mom, do what you want.
So today's irrational reason for me crying is because of a Finnish folk song? I sang it when I was a kid, (learned it in choir, it never left me) but I never properly bothered translating the text.
But uhhh yeah I'm singing the song again for a vocal competition, and I looked up the translation, and now I'm crying because my "3:00-A.M-On-A- Friday-Night-Scrambled-Egg" brain decided it has S4 Jonmartin vibes, and yeah.
So uhhh the song's called Kaipaava (Longing) and here's a rough translation of the text
"And without the moon or sun to shine, this world it is so dark,
and for the sake of one fair man my heart is troubled and sad.
You are fine like the grass on the meadow, I am lowly like the earth.
If you knew, my beloved, how much I miss you now,
I hope you would hasten back to me and not tarry on your way."
So uhh yeah that's that. The song is also one of the most haunting and beautiful things I've ever sung, so if you feel like it you can listen to my choir's recording on our Spotify and cry along at home.
