‘51 Henry J
In 1949 Kaiser Frazer Corporation introduced the dazzling 1949 Frazer Manhattan. Styled by Howard Dutch Darrin, it won the Fashion Academy of New York Gold Medal.
Inside, passengers were treated to high quality broadcloth fabrics, a stunning dashboard, and rear suicide doors that opened into a remarkably spacious cabin. Under the hood sat a reliable 226 cubic inch Continental inline six engine, paired with an optional overdrive transmission for smooth highway cruising.
On January 20, 1946 that non-running prototypes of the new Frazer and Kaiser automobiles debuted at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
