Dear Nobody,
G-gah!
...That’s what you guys are expecting, right?
Honestly, I get why you would wanna scare me. It’s like bragging rights. Like saying you struck out a legendary batter, or something.
But you’re gonna have to try a little harder than that to scare Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars! Good effort, though.
- Kaito Momota
Then how about Isekai Yakkyoku by Takayama Liz? It's not complete as it only really has 3 chapters but is pretty good too. Based on a Web and Light Novel. Kenja no Mago by Yoshioka Tsuyoshi is also good but also incomplete. Nurarihiyon no Mago by Shiibashi Hiroshi is complete and one of my favs. You like KHR so you may like this one too! -Kaito
Oh! No Game No Life is also great as both a manga and an anime! -Kaito
Wow, that’s a lot of recs! Okay let’s go through them one by one:
Isekai Yakkyoku
Summary: A young pharmacist in present-day Japan dies from overwork, and is reincarnated as a 10-year-old court pharmacist in an alternate medieval Europe.
Ahh, already this reminds me of two different mangas. It reminds me of Ryuu from Akagami no Shirayukihime, who is a twelve-year-old court pharmacist. And it reminds me of E? Heibon Desu Yo? which is about a high school girl who dies in a car crash and ends up being reborn in a medieval world where she’s the daughter of a lord. Her parents are actually poor because they put their people before themselves, so she uses her knowledge from her previous life to help bring in some money. Both absolutely amazing series that everyone else should totally read! This one sounds awesome too, so I’ll definitely take a look!
Kenjo no Mago
Summary: A young man who had surely died in an accident, was reborn in another world as a baby! After that, he was picked up by the patriot hero "Sage" Merlin Wolford and was given the name Shin. He was raised as a grandson by Merlin and soaked up Merlin's teachings earning him some shocking power however, when he became 15 his grandfather Merlin said: "I forgot to teach him common sense".
Another reincarnation series! Yay! I really do like these! This one sounds super interesting too, so I’ll definitely be sure to check it out!
Nurarihyon no Mago
Summary: Rikuo Nura, a kid that is part human and a quarter youkai (demon), lives in a house full of spirits along with his youkai grandfather. Trying to escape his fate of acting like a demon, he does good deeds in order to avoid becoming one despite his grandfather's wish to succeed him as master of the Nura youkai clan.
I actually read this one while it was still in serialization and I adored it!! Definitely a super awesome series and I was sad when they moved it from WSJ to NEXT!
No Game No Life
Summary: The internet is full of rumors about the Neet and Hikikomori genius gamer siblings Sora and Shiro. The two go as far as to refer to the world as a "shit game", but then one day a young man calling himself "God" summons them to a parallel universe. There, God has forbidden war, and "everything is to be settled with games". Yes, even the national borders. Driven into a corner by other species, the 'human species' is down to its last city. Can Sora and Shiro, these related failures of society, become the saviors of humankind in this parallel world?
I’ve seen this one around and tried reading it once or twice, but I didn’t really get past the first chapter. If you’re recommending it to me though I guess I can give it another shot ^_^ The premise sounds pretty interesting.
Dear Anonymous,
Heeey, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea!
Hey, Harumaki! What do you think of if I took a visit to your orphana -
... No. Don’t.
Trust me. It’s for your own safety.
- Kaito Momota and Maki Harukawa
Dear Anonymous,
I’ve heard of it, but...there’s no way it exists.
I mean...a road appearing from nowhere, defying all laws of thermodynamics and reality...
W-with lots of creepy shadowy figures and strange voices...and the road apparently has enough power to grant any desire...
T-there’s no way anything like that can exist, right?!
- Kaito Momota
Dear Anonymous,
I wish. Tried it at school during recess, but the teachers would always catch me.
Nah, man, I was the kid who tried to make toy rockets out of old soup cans and fire extinguishers, and make a boat out of fruit carts and tattered shower curtains.
What’s the point of life if you don’t experiment? You gotta live a little, know what I’m saying?
- Kaito Momota
Dear Anonymous,
You said “You need to decide or someone will kill your family”.
His decision was not to kill anyone. That’s deciding.
Oh, uh... thanks, Kokichi...
We all need each others’ help sometimes, don’t we?
- Kokichi Oma and Kaito Momota
Dear Anonymous,
Hey, hold on!
What the hell does being a guy have to do with teaching?
- Kaito Momota
