Mary Saotome with Yumeko's twin brother!S/O
A/n: As a fellow gambler, I find this anime very relatable (I have a gambling addiction and had to sell off my three children to pay off my debt). Thank you for requesting, I hope you enjoy!
Mary Saotome x male reader
-To be completely honest, Mary only wanted you as her boyfriend at first because of your relation to Yumeko, deciding that she had to have you the moment she learned Yumeko even has a brother. She challenged Yumeko to a gambling match with you as the prize and actually won in a hard-earned victory, which only made her see you as a trophy even more.
-Fully aware of your sister's personality, you sort of figured something like this would happen sooner or later. So, when she informed you of the situation, and introduced you to the one you would now be calling your girlfriend, you reluctantly went along with it, happy that she at least picked someone cute to gamble you away to.
-For the first few weeks of your relationship, Mary spends any time the two of you spend around Yumeko constantly clinging to you and praising you, sometimes even going out of her to make sure you both run into her more than usual so that she can show you off even more.
-Despite how pure her intentions might seem, all three of you are aware the main reason she's doing it is to try and get a reaction out of Yumeko. Every time she did it, though, Yumeko would simply smile and comment how glad she is to see the two of you so happy together without even a hint of insincerity, which only pisses Mary off and makes her stop after a while.
-When Mary got bored one evening, she asked if you wanted to play a simple card game, with just a small amount of money on the line, only for you to hit her with "no thanks, I don't like to gamble". From most people, this would be an understandable sentiment to have. Hell, even a sensible one. The problem is that "sensible" isn't a word Mary was expecting to describe someone even remotely related to someone like Yumeko, let alone her own brother. Needless to say, she couldn't believe her ears, and it took her a full hour just to make sure she was hearing you right.
-After actually getting to know you a little, Mary was surprised to learn you're actually a lot more level-headed and mentally stable than your sister. Not that she was complaining, of course, it was actually a breath of fresh air for her, and she finds you a lot more pleasant to spend time with because of this.
-While she can (eventually) come to terms with your distaste for gambling, she still expects you to come to all of her gambling matches to cheer her on and show your support. It's not anything she has personally against you or your lifestyle, it's just that after how lovey-dovey she made the two of you seem at the start of your relationship, she's worried rumours will start to spread if you suddenly couldn't even bring yourself to come to your own girlfriend's gambling matches. She at least has the decency to make it up to you after each one, though.
-One day, another couple at Hyakkaou challenged you and Mary to a card game played in teams of pairs. Mary planned to refuse at first, not wanting you to have to do something you don't like for a pair of nobodies, until they brought her reputation as a gambler into it. After a lot of pleading from her, you finally agreed to the match. The two of you ended up wiping the floor with them, and Mary was relieved to see that you were just as good at gambling at your sister, otherwise she might've asked Yumeko if you were adopted, even if the two of you are twins.
-If anyone has the gall to call you a coward or makes fun of you for not wanting to participate in gambling like the other students, she'll personally take it upon herself to make sure that they throw away all of their money to her and are forced into house pet status. Once that's done, she mocks them twice as hard as they did with you, stating that her boyfriend may not like gambling, but at least he's nowhere near complete garbage at it like they are.
