Here is the Rengoku family (only did this because I forgot about senjuro in the Kamado squad). So in this universe they have darker skin because I felt like it fit their hair more, also all except the mama have freckles.

As to the reason why old Rengoku and Middle Rengoku have fangs is that the oldest in the family (in my au) inherits most of the traits from the fox God (demon) that had blessed their bloodline. The fox was a burning Fox that was upper Moon two for many centuries and when the first Rengoku had such a fiery and determined spirit while talking to him during their fight he decided to one, spare the loser and two use the last of his blood demon art to Grant a blessing. Since this blessing was so huge and multi-generational the so-called God basically killed itself for this. (And if you're wondering they didn't spend much time in hell despite being a demon, this demon was a part of a cult before becoming a demon and afterwards became the leader. Instead of killing humans his members fed him blood, a lot of them had that rare blood type which is how he became so strong and ended up becoming upper Moon 2)

Not only just strength though, he made them much more flexible and made sure to have a determined fiery heart, but the unfortunate thing that came with the blessing is that they have Fox attributes. All first born Rengoku's from that day on were sneaky and mischievous but mostly playful, and they all have sharp pointy fangs. Of course any second born would have the hair color that came with the blessing but they wouldn't have as strong as abilities / traits.

Which is why in this au Senjuro is a lot weaker than his brother and ashamed of himself because of that. He's not aware that he is definitely more stronger than the average Slayer and would easily be able to defeat a week lower Moon.

When his brother died his father decided to train him despite thinking that he was a failure and when it gets to the hashira training arc in this au, he had already passed final selection and trains with Tanjiro n the gang.

so i was about to go to sleep and then this idea took me by the neck and would not let me go until i wrote it

none of the kamado gang is cis (nor are they straight but i’ll do that later)

he/they Tanjiro who has always felt like he was not quite a boy, but still loving the “big brother title”

trans he/they zenitsu who due to both his cowardice and the overwhelming pressure from Kaigaku feels like if they dont get married they wouldn’t be a real boy

it/its inosuke who never learned of gender growing up and does not care about it

she/they trans girl nezuko who always saw her mother and the way that she took care of her family compared to the way her father did it, and saw herself in her mother in the same way tanjiro took after their father
