so I read this gem of a comic

Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth is creation of the KING, Jack Kirby. One of his myriad bricks of global comic book house that pretty much everyone has built upon.

I love the fact most people now know about Stan Lee through his cameos in the MCU but with out Jack Kirby there would not be Marvel comics and up to a point there would not be National / DC comics either.

The idea of Kamandi Challenge is simple: 12 issue maxiseries with rotating artists and writers. Everyone tells story of Kamandi and each team leaves Kamandi in a cliffhanger for the next team to solve.

and what a wild ride it is. I mean few comicbook arcs or graphic novels have maybe one or two of twists and imagination packed into one part of this.  

It is filled with superscience, lore, sociopolitical satire, warmth, horror, action and breath taking art.

if you ever though you would love to see The Jungle Book meet Mad Max Fury Road in Planet of the Apes with John Dies in The End with Zardoz and Shaun of The Dead sprinkled over it and then some....You will then love Kamandi Challenge.

It goes around the world and society, our hopes and fears, with full-on adrenaline rush that never gives up, endlessly tossing dangers and death traps and crazy ideas to both, Kamandi and the reader.

Just read it. It is grand. A good homage to the King of Comics.

Hell Yeah Teen Superheroes Best Of 2017 Awards: Solo Series!

FAREWELL 2017! FUCK 2017! And Happy New Year Everyone! This is the time when every comics website takes a look at what were the best titles of the year. We might not be a comics site but a blog, but why should we let that stop us?! We decided to have awards in five categories and the first one is for the best Solo Series - a book starring a singular teen hero as a protagonist. Here are the choices for this category from our staff:

@ubernegro : Ms. Marvel has been the best solo teen series in 2017. Kamala has thrived as a character and personality for all-different, and all-new Marvel in that she is not afraid to tackle current issues such as Anti-Muslim sentiment, profiling, and gentrification. Kamala is what a teen person of color book should look like in 2017.

@keeper-of-the-lore :  There are many good to great teen books ongoing right now, like Ms. Marvel and New Super-Man, but if I have to pick my favorite, it's the amazing Gwenpool! The books focus on characters, meta exploration and the amazing art make for an unstoppable ongoing that I'll be sad to see canceled one day.

@majingojira :  All-New Wolverine - Laura lives up to the mantel, and her sister/daughter Gabby is one of the best new characters this year. Honorable Mention: Immortal Iron Fists.

Admin: The competition in this category was probably the fiercest this year, with the number of great ongoing series starring teen protagonists Marvel had put out, but one DC title was always keeping up with them and often even getting ahead the race, especially once it started digging into meta elements and confronting some of the more unpleasant issues of DC’s past. For that, I believe New Super-Man deserves recognition. Honorable Mentions: The Kamandi Challenge, Shade: the Changing Girl, Totally Awesome Hulk.
