Miles Morales: Where are you? Kamala Khan: Out shopping with my family. Why? 👀 Miles Morales: Fighting a giant monster in your neighborhood. Miles Morales: Also... Miles Morales: I kinda wanna kiss you. Kamala Khan: Awww. 🥹❤️ Kamala Khan: That's adorable. Kamala Khan: Unfortunately, my family's with me, and introducing my boyfriend right now would probably end in several heart attacks. Miles Morales: I can make a good first impression. Miles Morales: I'm charming. Miles Morales: My mom says so. Kamala Khan: Your mom is legally required to think that. Miles Morales: Harsh. Kamala Khan: 😂 Kamala Khan: Seriously, though... they don't even like me dating, and they definitely wouldn't approve of someone who isn't a Pakistani Muslim. Miles Morales: ...Oh. Miles Morales: Yeah. Miles Morales: Sorry. Miles Morales: Guess I'll cash in that kiss another time. Kamala Khan: ❤️ Miles Morales: I'll wait. Kamala Khan: Miles... Kamala Khan: You are not standing around waiting for me. Miles Morales: Why not? Miles Morales: The monster's almost wrapped up. Miles Morales: Besides, waiting to kiss my girlfriend is probably gonna be the best part of my day. Kamala Khan: That's disgustingly cute.💘 Kamala Khan: But I have no idea how long shopping's gonna take. Miles Morales: Doesn't matter. Miles Morales: You're getting kissed today one way or another. Kamala Khan: One way... Kamala Khan: Or another... Kamala Khan: I'm gonna find you... Kamala Khan: I'm gonna…. Miles Morales: Getcha. Kamala Khan: Getcha. Miles Morales: Getcha. Kamala Khan: Getcha.
Miles Morales smiled at the texts, snorting. She's such a dork. He thought as he continued swinging through the city, texting with one hand while dodging the giant monster attacking below. He landed on top of a building, sliding to a halt, and sighed as the monster nearly knocked his phone out of his hand, sending it flying. Luckily, a quick web shot let him catch it before it hit the ground.
"Hey, come on, man! Not cool. I'm trying to text my girlfriend. What are you, some type of monster?" Miles said as he slipped his phone into his pocket and used both hands to web the monster in a cocoon.
He smiled as he reached to text Kamala again, only for the monster to break free just before he could send another message.
A roar echoed through the street below.
The thirty-foot reptilian monster tore a city bus in half and hurled it toward him .
"Oh, seriously?" Miles launched himself into the air, flipping over the spinning wreckage by inches. His web snapped onto a nearby skyscraper, swinging him beneath the bus before he fired another web, catching it and redirecting it into an empty intersection.
"Public transportation is expensive, dude!"
The monster charged.
Miles vaulted over its head, planting both feet against its shoulders before springing away. The creature swung a massive claw through the air, barely missing him."Missed me!"
A second claw clipped his webline. "Okay that one was closer than I would've liked."
Miles landed against the side of a building, stuck there for half a second before launching himself back into the fight. He peppered the monster's face with rapid-fire webs, blinding it.
"See? That's why we don't skip eye protection." The monster ripped through the webbing with an angry roar and slammed both fists into the building.
The impact shattered windows and nearly threw Miles off balance. "Okay, rude."
His phone buzzed inside his suit.
He grinned.
Kamala.
He managed to pull it out for exactly one second.
Kamala Khan: Monster interrupted the shopping
Kamala Khan: Okay so you clearly need help 🙄🙄Mr.The monster's almost wrapped up.😒😒
Kamala Khan: I'll be there in two.
Miles smiled.
Wait...
"...two?"
The monster lunged.
Before it could reach him, an enormous fist rocketed in from the side and crashed into its jaw with enough force to send the creature skidding through three parked cars.
Miles blinked.
"...Huh."
A gigantic pair of feet landed on the rooftop beside him with a heavy BOOM.
The rooftop trembled.
Before Miles could react, a giant fist slammed into the monster, knocking it clean across the street. Moments later, a giant foot landed on the rooftop next to him before shrinking back down, revealing Kamala Khan.
"Heh." She smiled proudly. "Thought you said you had this." she asked, both hands resting proudly on her hips.
Miles stared at her in awe, as he always did before grinning.
"Hey, I said what I said. That thing wasn't hardlizardly my best work," he said as he walked over to the giggling girl, smiling as they stood face to face.
Kamala raised an eyebrow. "hardlizardly my best work'? Isn't that a bit of a stretch?" Kamala asked with a grin.
Miles scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, okay, I admit it was. I used up all my best work earlier. You should've seen it I was on a roll."
Kamala chuckled as she reached up and pulled his mask above his lips.
"I bet," she said.
Miles leaned down, their lips meeting in a kiss. When they finally pulled apart, he smiled, gently took her hand, and grinned.
"I gotcha.” He remarked.
“Mmhm” Kamala said. Then they both leaned in for another kiss.
