I think about Saru frequently. Genuinely one of the most compelling, fascinating, and well-fleshed out characters Star Trek has ever produced (in my opinion).
Also, it’s Doug Jones, whom i’ve been a fan of since middle school when my obsession with Guillermo del Toro was birthed.
Jones’ performance is nothing short of captivating and he steals every scene he’s in on Discovery istg.
The makeup design and application alone to pull this character off is nothing short of incredible, and that’s something that makes Jones’ performance even more impressive due to the way the makeup inhibits facial movement, and the thick ass contacts.
Jones is a master of acting in extreme makeup, and it definitely shows in this role. Saru is EASILY one of three or four characters in Trek who co-own the place of “favorite” in my mind
