Off to a slow start this morning. I got to sleep in a little today and then relaxed on the couch with my Greens to work on my hiragana. Since then I tackled the girls' huge mess in the living room, washed dishes, and vacuumed. Well, here we go. My Japanese learning has begun. Spent ages on My Japanese Coach yesterday repeating the first four lessons. Need to work on my colours a bit more but other stuff is going well. A word of advice for those who buy Kana from Zero- I found that from readng the Japanese from Zero 1 sample it expects you to know Hirigana, so my method will be to use Kana to learn Hirigana then go onto Japanese 1, then back to Kana to learn Katakana then buy Japanese 2. My Japanese Coach cost £18.50 and after using it for one day, sl far i can count to ten, say basic words and name some colours which is great. I'm aware of incorrect strokes so i'm being cautious about that. The hit a word part really does make it stick and is very enjoyable. It may have been pricey but it looks like it'll do the job. I also got Talk Japanese from BBC Active for cheap too. They are re-releasing it but the old one has two discs and a workbook so that's fine. Just go for the set- it does have the transcripts but honestly it's just better to go for it and buy the audio too. As for Kana de Manga? Compared to Kana, it's too basic and literally just a copy the word type thing. Not impressed at all and will be selling it along with Kanji de Manga 3. It just chucks you in the deep end. It doesn't ease you in at all. So that's my set up. Wish me luck!
