The instructions on perlers literally say to iron both sides. Why do people only iron one side? Flip it over and iron the other side.

My opinion on PLUR, kandi, and the entire rave culture is forever changing, yet so is the community itself.

You know what grinds my gears?

It really fucking irritates me when people give me, or anyone, shit about kandi. For those of you that didn’t know, kandi originated from drug deals at raves. Though that’s not what it’s about any more, it is still a part of its history. Now kandi is about love and meeting new people. It’s about using creativity and making something that makes you happy and hopefully someone else one day. Kandi is subjective. Kandi is self-expression. But apparently me using FAKE pills on singles is not smart and it’s getting kandi banned at shows.  Since when was kandi about being smart? And so what if kandi gets banned at some places, those places are obviously not welcoming to the kandi culture. 

The kandi culture has changed vastly over the years. With the rise in popularity of “EDM” and raving a lot of things are changing. I would have never dreamed in a million years of selling kandi, I felt like it was a form of betrayal to this community, my community. But these days a lot of people don’t give a flying fuck about kandi. Though there are still plenty of true kandi kids out there, there are now people who wear it just to fit in with the crowd. A lot of people are just trying to look cool because they want to look like a raver or whatever the fuck their reasons are. People are using kandi to sneak drugs into shows. People trade away kandi that has been given to them. People cut up kandi that has been given to them and reuse the beads. 

So if you’re going to say people like me are the reason that kandi is being banned at shows, you can kindly take your opinion and shove it far up your ass because I honestly don’t give a shit what you think. People are out there with giant marijuana leaf perler necklaces, hats that say “Where’s Molly”, shirts that advertise cocaine, and some of these people are also wearing kandi. Some might have drug paraphernalia on their kandi. I do not care. That’s their business if events are banning kandi because of this then that’s that. Some people do drugs, some don’t. It doesn’t matter to me personally. But just because I have a clay pill capsule on a single makes me the bad guy? I don’t think so. Even though it’s a pill it doesn’t have to have a negative connotation. I’ll post my picture of my single that says “music is my drug” with a pill on it tomorrow. But even if the single said “Molly”, why would that be a problem if kandi is about expressing one’s self?

Also, I never reblog my own pictures on this blog, so I’m sorry for that, but I had to. That comment incited a fire in me and I am a very opinionated woman and I don’t take shit from anyone. I don’t mind if someone disagrees with me, but there are certain ways to go about things. Some of you might disagree with me and that’s okay, but when you come at me with bull shit, or try to give me shit about something I feel strongly about I’m not gonna fucking sit back quietly. It especially bothers me when I’ve done nothing to someone and they’re just foul to me. Please keep your rudeness to yourself, otherwise I will retaliate.
