Yes, Jonghyun and Samuel Didn’t Make It

Honestly, I just need to have a little rant, so I’ll be hitting a few points in this.

First, Samuel and Jonghyun were not the only trainees fucked over. All I see is everyone complaining about how those two didn’t make it, but seven other boys were standing up on that stage with them. I do realize that Samuel has been training since he was 13, and has failed in debuting twice. Yes, I do realize Jonghyun was everyone’s number 1 leader and it didn’t make a lot of sense how he dropped so far out of the ranks. But no, I don’t think these two deserve to be treated higher than anyone else that was left standing on that stage.

Choi Minki

How do people forget about Minki? He is in the same group as Jonghyun and no one is talking about him. Do you not remember how many times he kept smiling, even when something hurt him? Or when he always supported Dongho, Minhyun, and Jonghyun over himself? Or how much his performances improved throughout the whole thing? And how his confidence was boosted? No, because everyone was focused on the other three.

Im Youngmin

Im Youngmin, the boy that was all so relieved every time he passed an elimination, to get his dreams shattered right before he was about to cross the line. Seeing him cry was probably one of the scariest experiences of my life because Im Youngmin is that dazzling hyung that likes to maintain happiness. No one remembers how he used to play with his lips when he was nervous or didn’t know what to do. No one remembers how much he supported and cared for Sewoon every chance he got, because he got no screen time and most people can’t even recall his name.

Joo Haknyeon

Hakneyon always was a unique one. He isn’t one that most people recognize off the top of their head, but Haknyeon is so talented. I seriously can’t imagine Produce 101 without him, because his gummy smiles and intense laughter brought happiness to the darker times. He has such an underrated voice and not much screen time, but that does’t mean many people don’t love him for who he is. Although he didn’t get what he wanted in the end, I have hope he is going somewhere. That boy deserves so much.

Kang Dongho

Although Dongho is a very well known trainee, he deserves to be mentioned just as much as the other 6. He made people uncomfortable, his strength reaching near shocking. He made Sewoon cry, but he was just trying to sort out everything. He came off too greedy and uptight at times, but he finally was revealed to be one of everyone’s favorite hyungs. Nu’est needs him, though. They need him to lead them, to show them that this isn’t the end. He and his members deserve another shot at happiness.

Ahn Hyeongseop

Hyeongseop..who? Exactly. Welcome to the most slept on member in the top 20. People know his face, maybe, but his name is an extremely rare occurrence. I can name the times I’ve heard it on one hand. He got almost no screen time the whole time, except in the first few episodes where he was D and somehow managed to get A the next time, but was pushed out of the way when people realized the real headliner was the F to A.This boy really had nothing going for him all season, and it really saddens me that they wasted such an amazing soul. I believe he will make his debut someday.

Jung Sewoon

One of the most deserving boys I’ve ever seen. He helped everyone, and naturally became best friends with his enemy and someone he loves dearly. Jaehwan and Youngmin maintained being Sewoon’s main supporters, while still being taught much by Sewoon. Do you remember when Sewoon tapped on Youngmin’s leg to help him keep beat in the beginning of episode 11? Or how much his confidence has developed over such a short amount of time? Or when everyone started to compare him to Ponyo when he dozed off in his ranking seat and he accepted it with open arms? He is one of the few boys I believe should have gotten into the group from the beginning, he was extremely deserving of one of the spots, but that doesn’t mean I’m not proud of the top 11. I think Sewoon would make a good teacher, maybe he’ll do something like that. Or maybe he’ll continue with his dream to debut. Either way, he’ll excel at whatever he chooses, and he’ll have many by his side the whole way.

Yoo Seonho

Baby chick, what have they done to you? This boy was given so much screen time within the last few episodes, it makes me wonder why they didn’t give it sooner. I will always be angry that Guanlin and Seonho didn’t get to debut together. He will always remain as Guanlin and Minhyun’s personal cheerleader. Seonho was one of the most passionate and easy going humans I had ever seen in my life. He knew how to act like the maknae but he also knew when to be serious when it was called for. The boy who used to eat 5 meals a day before he entered the show. The boy who called his family to complain about how he couldn’t eat five meals a day. He was the most cuddly and openly comfortable with tons of skinship boy that I’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait to see more from him in the future. That boy is going places, I swear on it.

Now, don’t even get me started on the other eliminated trainees, I can go all night. But seriously listen to what I’m going to say next.

Second, just because your favorite didn't make it into the group, doesn’t mean you have permission to bring the other 11 down because they were the ones that made it. Every single one of those boy was deserving in their own way, and if you can sit here and tell me different, clearly you’re not a very good stan. Every single one of them were friends, and imagine what it would feel like finding out that so many people were refusing to stan a group just because you weren’t in it, but your best friend was.

Third, I know a hell of a lot of people didn’t go through those 11 episodes to end up not stanning Wanna One. You don’t even have to stan them, but please always support them. They deserve love too, even if one of them isn’t your favorite male on the Earth.
