A Nebraska School District Fired a Chef Who Served Kangaroo Meat for Lunch
The superintendent of a Nebraska junior and senior high school has apologized after students were accidentally served kangaroo meat for lunch.
According to News Channel Nebraska, a chef with the Potter-Dix School District in Dix, Nebraska had added kangaroo meat to chili served to students during lunch on Thursday, October 10. The chef, identified as the school's head cook Kevin Frei, had told the school's principal about the addition of kangaroo meat after it had been served.
In a letter sent home to parents and obtained by Buzzfeed, school superintendent Mike Williams explained how the incident had occurred. Williams explained that he discussed with Frei what happened after he was made aware of the addition of the kangaroo meat. "He said he added the kangaroo meat because of its nutritional value because it is a very lean meat," Williams said of the chef.

There's a poll going around about how many weddings we've been to, but I'd rather just do this. I think I've been to 6 or 7. One was my brother's, and it was a Mormon (LDS) wedding, so I didn't get to attend the actual ceremony because that is in the secret inner sanctum of the temple, and only for the initiated. There was a reception and a big to-do for all of us heathens, though, my parents included, lol.
Two of the other weddings were my dad's, lolololol. I was a bridesmaid for the first one (his second, not my mom, obviously), and the second one (his third) was in a cabin on a frozen lake near Helena, Montana at midnight in the middle of winter, because they are fucking crazy. It was fun, though. Mostly. The cake was awesome. It was chocolate cake with black tea baked into it.
But the part me and my brother and my sister-in-law remember the most is the ridiculous restaurant we went to for dinner, which had kangaroo steak on the menu, so one of us got it because what the hell, when in Montana, eat kangaroo, right? Riiiight?? We all tried some, and it was fucking disgusting. Just terrible. Whatever overpriced fish or meat I ordered, wasn't much better. We all wish we had just ordered the hamburger. Made of beef. Or the mac and cheese on the kid's menu.
But yeah, my dad gets married a lot. This one has held, though. Third time's a charm, as they say. They're still fucking crazy, though.
DELICIOUS KANGAROO MEAT

While our cats might seem all fancy and spoiled for eating Kangaroo meat, in reality, one of our cats has a food allergy and kangaroo was the only animal of the available foods at the vet that they haven’t tried before. Rabbit was an option but since they have had rabbit before and we’re doing an elimination test, dude’s gotta eat that Roo meat.
Fave courses were the scallop, hamachi collar with yuzu and kelp oil, and lamb neck charsiu
Other than the Brussels sprouts being way too oily it was a great selection of meats... will be back
