kanyecolle replied to your post “the koe no katachi film was rly good”
yeah it was awesome. The manga's even better though; it fleshes out the side characters and has side stories that weren't animated
i want to ask if it fleshes out the black haired girls character and makes her out as less of a bitch but i doubt it
kanyecolle replied to your post: Nier was such a god damn good game
man everyone’s getting me hyped….gonna buy it soon
The gameplay was good but what hooked me was the story. It starts off pretty nonsensical I’ll admit, but the more you delve into the conspiracy and the more the world seems to come alive and make more sense is just fascinating. The idea that you can learn more about being human watching these machines and androids struggle with the meaning of life, finding a purpose, discovering emotion, questioning ideals, rebelling against creators, and even forming self-determination is just breathtaking.
The characters are well written, their interactions are plentiful and extremely enjoyable and the darker parts of the story will keep you going just to see how it will affect them.
On top of all this the music for the game is downright breathtaking.
Nier is not my favorite game ever. I still think the Witcher 3 beats it, however Nier was absolutely delightful. I do not have any real complaints outside of perhaps lack of customization in the first route. No costumes or anything outside of some hair ribbons from a side quest. Some may also complain that you have to beat the game multiple times to get the true ending but for me that fact you keep everything when you restart is enough for me to be okay with it.
Tl;DR. Nier is really damn good. I wish there was an actual story-based DLC (or possibly a sequel announcement).
