Now that I'm reaquainting myself with the Rurouni Kenshin story via the newer anime, and realizing how Kaoru does almost literally nothing despite being the head of her own dojo, I'm even less able to take the Sakura haters in the Naruto fandom seriously.

Like really? Sakura is useless? Lmao at least she fucking fights, and heals people. She actively tries to help Naruto and the other fighters. And is actually really helpful most of the time.

Meanwhile Kaoru's a fucking wallflower for Kenshin to save. YAHIKO helps with the fights more often than she does. And he's objectively less skilled than she is, as he should be as he is *literally her student*. And she has the motivation to fight right alongside Kenshin literally built right into her origins. What's the point of a "life-giving sword" that you use to protect others if you don't fucking use it? Lmfao holy shit, the more I think about it the more it kinda pisses me off.

Don't get me wrong, I LIKE Kaoru as a character overall but holy fuck she is the epitome of wasted potential in terms of being a combatant. At least Sakura objectively helps everyone else most of the time, both as a combatant and a medic.
