After spending good time at padukere and mattu beach, we headed towards Kapu... The roads are fabulous, passing small coastal hamlets all the way. The scenery is pastel and serine. Kapu is a town situated in the Udupi district of Karnataka, India. It lies between the twin cities of Udupi and Mangalore, next to the National Highway 66. The villages Manchakal and Shirva are located near Kapu. Located just 4 miles off the coast of Karnataka in the Arabian Sea, St. Mary's Island is a geological treasure and hosts some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. It is a group of four individual islands namely Coconut Island, North Island, South Island and Daryabahadurgarh Island. According to scientific records, rock formations found in St.Mary's Island match the rock formations at Madagascar in Africa. Theory suggests that Madagascar was attached to India some million years ago. Later, it got separated because of sub-volcanic activity.
