Coming soon: EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT is a coiled, poetic film about colonialism and sacred plants in the Amazon. Following a shaman's interactions with white anthropologists seeking a powerful psychedelic plant, the film captures the clash of cultures and the majesty of nature in striking black-and-white. The first Best Foreign Language Film nominee from Colombia starts Friday, April 29. A special Science on Screen showing of the film on Tuesday, May 3, will be followed by a panel discussion. #embraceoftheserpent #scienceonscreen #amazon #oscars #karamakate #shaman
