ha! there’s a noraebang scene in ep6 where Chi Won (looking like he’s living his worst nightmare, which it sure is for many) is dragged out by his coworkers yelling NORAE HAE NORAE HAE to sing (and then just snatching the mic out of his hands and going for it themselves) the song Ae Ryun and Sang Hoon sing at Jung Hee’s in ep14 (버스 안에서 (On the Bus) by Zaza, from the year of Our Lord 1996).
oh and Jung Young Joo (Ae Ryun) is also in Jugglers as the magnificent wife of a cheating scumbag
will i ever be free? not bloody likely.
this is not really vicbourne-y, just, you know, everywhere i go there’s a love song that reminds me of you
you can walk away and wander you can fly among the stars but in sunlight or in thunder keep me somewhere in your heart but in boredom or in wonder keep me somewhere in your heart and remember and remember mine has been yours from the start
in starry darkness, in the light of day don't let this love ever fade away gold may get rusty, friends may turn away just save this love for this alone i pray
lose your mind and let it grieve you make mistakes and fall apart but wherever roads may lead you keep me somewhere in your heart but whatever life may bring you keep me somewhere in your heart and remember and remember mine will always do its part
in starry darkness, in the light of day don't let this love ever fade away gold may get rusty, friends may turn away just save this love for this alone i pray
in starry darkness, in the light of day don't let this love ever fade away the sky will tumble, words will sting with pain just save this love so we can start again
i was working on my entry to the annual Vicbourne Advent Calendar the other day, Christmas all around us and shit, and a tune somewhere at the back of my mind. at some point words joined up. i have like three favorite Christmas songs and two of them are by Jonathan Coulton (if it means anything to you), so of course the tune at the back of my mind was The Stowaway, you know, from Doctor Who. i thought at first i’d just pile it out as lyrics to read but nooo i had to sing it. the only problem, apart from the obvious, was there is no legit karaoke version of this song, so i activated the extreme googling mode and found this beautiful midi here, and this is what a triumph of talent and persistence sounds like. and please note that while Billy Mack had only to squeeze an extra syllable into the fourth line, i had TWO extra LINES (there are too many Vicbourne things you simply have to mention amirite, mundane things can’t contain the spirit of Vicbourne, not when you have audio editing software)!
in case your ears can’t take the sound of a triumph of talent and persistence, that’s perfectly understandable, and here are the lyrics for your eyes:
months ago that feel like years i stood there swallowing my tears you told me i don’t know my own heart and you told me that you know yours i couldn’t say which one was worse but you won’t fool me now, not when we dance
beg and pray and run away say what you say of December and May of orchids and rooks and old dusty books and the shadows cast by the ghosts of the past dawn will break and i will wake and there you will be under my Christmas tree
i told you of the love i lost thinking i could pay the cost of shielding you from harm with my own heart i was a fool, forgetting then that all it takes is one true friend and a soul that is too tired of being cold
i begged and i prayed and i ran away i wrote an essay on December and May on orchids and rooks quoting old dusty books in the shadows cast by the ghosts of the past but if at dawn you’re awake and alone come look for me under your Christmas tree
beg and pray and run away say what you say of December and May orchids and rooks and old dusty books and the shadows cast by the ghosts of the past
i begged and i prayed and i ran away i wrote an essay on December and May but if at dawn you’re awake and alone come look for me under your Christmas tree
beg and pray and run away say what you say of December and May dawn will break and i will wake and there you will be under my Christmas tree
orchids and rooks and old dusty books and the shadows cast by the ghosts of the past dawn will break and you will wake and there i will be under your Christmas tree
