Hello!! Its kinda sad thinking that nullified its coming to an end but hey! Ive enjoyed it. Can we see more about karendebra and selpa? Their whole dynamic just cracks me up 😂

It's weird to think about it ending, I've been working on it for like...a year and a half now?! But I've got some stuff in mind for...supplemental material, once the fic is done. 😎

We know how selpa feels about dib and earth, but what does he think of humans in general? And does he miss anyone from meekrob?

Selpa pretty much feels about humans the way he feels about most aliens - he doesn't completely understand them, and doesn't feel the need to. He probably is a little concerned over the human obsession with snacks, entertainment, and using up natural resources though. Those are all very Irken, and his theory is that in a few thousand years, humans could very well start conquering planets themselves.

He likes to observe, but he doesn't like to socialize. Like a cat.

As far as Meekrob goes, he misses his friends and his family, he misses his planet, he misses his people, his culture. The Meekrob were kind of a hive mind, and all that is just gone now, which was traumatic at first, but he's adapted.

He especially misses his Life-Bringer (basically his parent). Pre-Invasion, before he took an Irken persona, he was pretty much just a teenager who made bad decisions and was a jerk to his family. He regrets that a lot, now that they're gone.

He does NOT miss his snooty arch-enemy, KarenDebra. It's said that no Meekrob survived the Invasion, but if any did, it would be them...

Sorry for the terrible sketches and rambling, I've developed a ridiculous amount of lore for this side character so I'm always happy to talk about it! 🤣

Ugh the more you post about selpa, the more im obssesed with him ❤️😭 i had a question tho, how would he react if he found another meekrob? Besides karendebra of course…. And has he ever done something genuenily nice for dib?

He'd be happy! I mean, as happy as he can get anyway. The Meekrob were all connected through a telepathic wavelength, so each Meekrob vaguely "knew" one another, even if they had never actually met - so he'd have a personal connection to any surviving members of the race. That said, the less Meekrob there are, the less powerful the wavelength, so even if there were a few surviving members, Selpa would have no way of knowing or getting in contact. But he would do his best to keep them from further harm, because that's pretty much the only way he knows to show that he cares about something.

Which ties in to Dib. 🤣 He'd probably say the nicest thing he's done for Dib is not slaughtering him when Dib ruined Selpa's entire mission. But like I said, his way of showing care is by protecting - so him staying on Earth with Dib when he didn't have to (Lard Nar did not order him to do so) was him being nice. Though Dib might disagree.

Plus, telling Dib his true name was a huge sign of trust, given to Dib in a time of need. Dib might not have caught onto that because he was busy stewing in self-pity, but it was a big deal for Selpa. Other than that, the nicest thing he's done for him is not mauling him. 👍

Bonus sketches, Selpa's Life Bringers were at constant odds with Karendebra over their offspring's bad behavior. And if they ever saw Selpa nowadays, they'd definitely get on his nerves even more than Dib.
