Heyoooo so lowkey I realized that I haven’t shown much of my crafty stuff lately, sooo—

BEHOLD Pocky Wordgirl!!

Sooo for context, since there’s like very little actual merch for Wordgirl I decided to manifest the lil gal herself via needlefelting. While I have made her before, this time I wanted to try to make a design I could stick to rather than make it on the spot (something I’ve been doing so far for all my projects until now).

Below is the redesign in question + a WIP of her when she was only eyes hehe (´∀｀)

While ambitious, rn I’m working towards designing n crafting every single villain and hero first (minus Huggy but that’s a post for another day, I PROMISE it’s not cause I hate him tho lol)

Also since I have alooooot of leftover wool, I currently plan to make some more while I’m on break and perhaps sell a few as fan merch (depending on if people want one 👀)

Until then tho I might make some silly montages with her lmao (did I mention she’s even SMALLER? Like a deck of cards can probably tower over her ahksbdndnd)

I miss the old tumblr.

I miss the reblogs and interactions.

I miss fics that were character based and plot driven and not "just" smut.

I know I am not around much anymore. I still poke my head in for glimpses of what was but it just always makes me sad how much this place seems to have changed.

🌟Attention All Wordgirlies!! 💫

It’s time that I announced one of the coolest WordGirl things that I’ll be working on for this month and it's criminal that I can't make that title any bigger ajfhsksfsd.

While I did originally announce this on a WG server, I wanna make sure to let every WordGirl fan know about this! 

Right now I’m working on a university project that revolves around interviewing a content creator. Well, I decided to try to reach out to a few crew members for WordGirl and get this: I’ll be interviewing not just one, but TWO WordGirl crew members:

Mike Nordstrom, who was a storyboard artist for season 1 to season 6 of WordGirl!

Jack Ferraiolo, one of the co-creators/writers of WordGirl and the voice of The Butcher!

I’m super stoked that I was able to reach out to them and that they were both willing to make the time to have an interview! 

While I will be recording this interview and transcribing for my school project, I also want to invite all you WordGirl fans the opportunity to ask your own questions to both Mike and Jack! 

I’ll leave the link to the Google Forms I created below the cut, but I do have a couple of disclaimers that I must address firstly so read them pls.

With that said, please share and reblog this to any other WordGirl lovers ya know; the more the merrier!! 💖💗

1. Since I have no idea how many questions y’all will have, I will likely have to limit the fan questions I ask to 2-3 questions. This is both so that transcribing isn’t a pain for me as well as to be mindful of their time. If I get a lot of questions, I may end up conducting a poll of some sorts to help us decide which questions to ask!!

2. While both Mike and Jack confirmed that they were interested in having an interview, I want to let you all know that I’m still trying to wrap some final details before having these interviews. While my plan is to start interviewing this Friday, should either Mike or Jack express any concerns about this interview that may end up changing.

Let's stop the them and us speech

In general really but right now I am thinking readers and writers. I'm not sure what started this but there has been this great divide created between the two. A divide that means writers aren't getting the reblogs and feedback we all so desperately crave and need to keep us going and readers is afraid of interacting with their favorite writers while others are just sick of feeling as if they are being forced too so they stopped.

I am both a reader and a writer. Some of the posts I see on a daily basis attacking writers as well as readers makes my stomach turn.

So to the writers...

I get you. Reblogs and feedback are way down. It's discourageing and hurtful - I feel it too. I just really don't think we will get anywhere by threatning our readers, withholding updates for x number notes, blaming them for our hurt feelings or trying to make them feel as if they are obligated to interact.

Again I get it as a writer but as a reader I don't wanna feel obligated to reblogging everything. I don't want anything on my blog that I don't fully recommend. I leave feedback on everything I reblog and if I had to reblog something I hated... Well that feedback would do no one any good.

As a reader I don't have time to read as much as I would like so I have to pick and choose. It's not a slight to the 50 fics I scroll past a day, though as a writer I see how that sucks, life just gets too busy for me to consume everything.

To the readers...

If you love something, make an effort to leave feedback somehow and know how just a single reblog can create a chainreaction that writers so desperately need for exposure. You are not obligated to do either no matter what people say, just know you will make someone very happy if you do.

Try not to be demanding. Don't demand more it's not a compliment. It's often stressful. Aside from that... keyboard smashes or a long essay are welcome to most writers.

If one writer is a dick to you it don't mean we're all dicks. Sadly every batch has a few rotten apples - I'm sorry if you encountered one. The next one you talk too will most likely be awkward but sweet (that's most honestly).

To everyone...

Let's try our best to talk to each other and not at each other. Maybe we can fix this if we learn to listen and see the others side. Maybe readers and writers can find a way to be one community again - filled with support and love.

At least that's what I hope since I will likely always belong to both camps.
