but i got over it <3 so heres the lore dump for the psumnt crue

disclaimer: im not an academic & have no idea if anything i say is accurate to Real University Life, just blame any plot holes on PSUMNT being not like other girls <3

seth and martyn are the heads of the environmental science department & biology departments, respectively

seth is iris & ART's bio-uncle, he adopted them after his sister (their bio-mom) passed. iris and art were too young when it happened to remember much about her, and have only ever seen seth and martyn as their dads

seth and martyn founded the PSUMNT's covert ecological survey program, where they gather evidence against government & corporate entities that cover up environmental damage

art is, officially speaking, only part-time transportation for PSUMNT. it drives the busses/RVs/what have you to survey locations for undergrad field work. unofficially, it's the one that scouts out new locations for the covert program to investigate, ping-ponging across the continental US in its van and taking dirt/soil/air samples periodically

(yes, the students thinking that it's just some dipshit with a CDL drives it up the wall. it has 3 doctorates god dammit)

the rest of the crew are (publicly) staff within the university itself that also volunteer to assist with longer field surveys. their bi-annual group road trip is both normal and legal, stop worrying about it

this is a random one but kaede is a former ecoterrorist/activist that seth met doing protest work in the 90s. she has a bag of mint seeds in her pocket at all times in case she ever comes across a golf course
