Karkatstuck is complete!!
For those who aren’t in the know, this is basically an accumulation of AUs in which all the trolls play musical chairs with blood colors, but since that’s a lot of trolls to cover, I just stuck with Karkat’s POV. Links to the separate posts plus the explanations again under the cut:
Fuchsia: basically my version of the seadwellers have slightly different anatomy, so I messed with Karkat to fit. As for the back story, The Sufferer used the low bloods through tales of a better world to uprise against the previous empress. Sadly, during the uprising, a teal blooded dualscar took the it too far, turning the midbloods and low bloods against all highbloods in total, executing the sufferer as a scapegoat for what basically becomes the troll French Revolution. Thus, karkat in this universe is under secret for the prejudice against his blood color.
Violet: this kartkat is similar to blue karkat, loving the story of the sufferer but not really believing it beyond an interesting story. He has a bit of a superiority complex and spout about his greater purpose to fight for the glory of Alternia, but doesn’t have anything particularly against the trolls, if anything has a secret soft side for the lowbloods.
Purple: although this isn’t really a contest, I feel like purple Karkat would “win” the prize for Most Miserable Karkat. Because so much of his natural personality conflicts heavily with purple ideology, I can imagine him struggling a lot here. I feel like, since he doesnt really have anything to “prove” by acting aggressive, he would prefer to protect his friends over fighting them, but his naturally aggressive blood type is hard to ignore, to the point where he may go to sopor just to dull the aggressive/murdery thoughts. This conflict builds a lot of self loathing, both at his nature and his inability to just accept his role and be a “proper purple blood.” I can imagine in this setting, the sufferer was actually a rogue highblood who took the path of mercy over wrath, and suffered the consequences. Karkat struggles to believe in his faith, or even in the legitimacy of his ancestory, but plays the part of believer the best he can to not raise suspicion/culling chances
Indigo: Indigo KK wants to be able to make heavy machines like soldier robots and turrets and stuff but he’s only so good at those so he ends up working on little trinkets and stuff that he gives away to other trolls because he doesn’t care to keep them
Cobalt: Cerulean karkat also has an interest in a certain peace seeker, though his comes through more literary means. Although he doesn’t necessarily believe in the legitimacy of the Sufferer’s journals, they do make an intense read he readily enjoys. He shares a bit more of the serket meddlesome behavior, feeling as leader he knows what’s best for the group, and can get kinda pushy about it.
Teal: Teal karkat takes a lot of his urge to boss people around plus not very many people taking his rants seriously, and mixes it with a thirst for justice, leaving you with basically a troll hall monitor lmao his glasses are round and generally reflect the shape of his symbol
Jade: this karkat is more passive, being raised to embrace his more caring side by the mother grub. He has a strong passion for troll regency romance novels, and enjoys making a lot of the accurate character clothes :)
Olive: olive KK grew up a hunter, except he was too ambitious when he was younger and got caught up in something way bigger than him and luckily only got out with a few scars. He wears fishing gear and wades the sea shore for prey but stays wary of the biggest beasts though.
Lime: limeblood karkat basically is almost exactly the same as mutant blood karkat, because he’d still be pissed and afraid of people finding out his blood color. He may be a bit more passive though, and eventually when he stops fearing culling he may use some of his cool powers.
Yellow: gold karkat was super self sacrificial and accidentally fried his brain powers pretty early on, so now he just spends a lot of time grumbling at himself and berating his every little mess up as a massive failure. Kanaya and the others try to get him to be easier on himself but it usually just sets him off on worse fights with himself;;;
Copper: He, like jade blood karkat, is more passuve than some of the others, though he does have a bit of an aggressively passionate streak over the various comic series he’s into. His favorite is Troll Superman, with his heroic ability to challenge the status quo and fight corrupt highbloods without compromising his quest for peace!
Rust: Rust KK I came to the conclusion would be into Troll Jane Porter, to go with the adventurer theme/romance undertines :0 he gets bugged a lot by the spirits though, which leads to not a lot of sleep, and still a grumpy karkat. He has a fun Jane/Tarzan moment w Dave Harley tho hehe
