Rose would probably listen to Karkat’s bitching for a long, long while, and then point out all the flaws in his reasoning tbh. A very heavy-handed, but efficient method of forcing him to examine the fallacies in his own logic. No, Karkat, by your own logic, you are NOT an unforgivable piece of shit. Stop making up arguments against yourself they’re all flimsy. Yes okay you’re right on that bit but that just means you have to try to be better instead of sitting and wallowing.
Karkat helping Rose would probably consist more of Rose hitting one of her downward spirals and Karkat just sorta holding her, going all soft for her ears special, delicately running his claws through her hair and reminding her that she’s valued, she’s important, grounding her. Pulling back from that edge she so frequently teeters on.
Karkat’s high empathy moderate social skills, and Rose is high empathy and incredibly low social skills, so while Rose might feel a lot and understand a lot she’s not always the best and conveying things delicately, and while Karkat’s a little better he does tend to be blunt as a brick, despite attempts made for the benefit of his partner.
Anyway Rosekat is a blessing and I love it.
