I love your blog, but every time I show it to my one person, who is really into pop history (if that makes any sense) she says that no, they are "just nubians" who apparently had their own texts at the time and did self inserts with their own art. I dont quite understand this despite looking it up. I am positive she is wrong, but I am confused what she is talking about, and also, if that did happen it would be pretty neat to see what Nubians did make during that time.

This has got to be one of the weirdest things I have ever heard.

My mind is 100% boggled, in the sense that I literally cannot understand what any of that means, or is supposed to mean.

I have to admit that I do enjoy his humor once in awhile, but I think he is the worst possible king, no practice, and still has a superiority complex.

Thing is that I really wanted to like him. He just makes it so hard. I guess I'm annoyed, because he has it so easy in comparison to everyone else but the narrative keeps putting him in a position where it's obvious that I'm supposed to feel bad for him. 

And just.... I'm a lesbian who has a load shit of opinions on oppressive systems and morality, and I have studied law and have a lot of opinions about legality, too. And there's Morrigan who has been persecuted ever since she was a kid even though technically she didn't do anything but defend herself? (Not to mention that I wrote an essay on the inquisition and the witch trials and history of criminal law in general and I get angry just THINKING ABOUT the misogyny and plain injustice and cruelty people were subjected to and the CONSEQUENCES women suffer even today; and then alistair is like "Oh yeah witches are so evil lololol" and I want to BASH his face in just for that). And then there's Wynne who was brainwashed by the Chantry and forced to give up her baby? And there's Zevran who was sold into slavery. Slavery!!

I cannot help but feel punched in the face by White heteropatriarchy when the story 1. puts Alistair on one level with these brave, oppressed souls, and 2. pushes his point of view down my throat when his story is so intertwined with the main story arc that it's impossible for me to ignore him. 

Like, Leliana is simple minded and some of her views just reek of privilege, too. But when you confront her about it as an elf, for example, she actually learns from it and THANKS you for challenging her. Plus, she's a woman and the world is a misogynistic pile of shit so I cut her some slack just for that.

Yeah, well, sorry for the rant. I love DA:O, but the writers seem to suffer from a profound lack of understanding the world in its entirety. I'm not actually mad at Alistair, because he's a fictional character and doesn't have an actual opinion on anything. But I do hate what he stands for.

1) what was your favourite toy as a kid?

I had this baby doll I took everywhere with a squishy body and a plastic head. I called her ‘bubby’.

2) what song do you listen to to change your mood?

I don’t have one go to song but I have playlists or artists. The one I most frequently go to is 2 guys who do covers of songs in harmonies. They are called Michael Henry and Justin Robinett

3) what’s your favourite food?

Milk Chocolate. Hands down ahaha… In literally anything if it’s not too rich.

4) what’s a book that means something to you?

The witches was something my mum used to read to me and my brother in the car on long trips so I have a soft spot for that one. 

5) where’s your favourite place in the world?

Neuschwanstein, Germany where the “Disney Castle” commissioned by the eccentric King Ludwig II of Bavaria is. It’s surrounded by the most beautiful scenery and I just had the best day there when I went I have no idea why. Probably because I was still drunk from the night before and me and my friends weren’t fighting.

6) what’s the best present you ever got?

This is really hard, I mean I’ve been very privileged and gotten some lovely things over my life. But probably one from my first boyfriend, when I was 16. He got me a beautiful heart necklace which I eventually lost and it broke my heart even though we had been broken up for a couple of years. I really loved him but we were so young we didn’t know how to make it work. I still miss that thing.

7) what do you think gives life meaning?

Woooowwwww this is not something I really have an answer to. Hope, probably. That’s generally what keeps me going. Hope for love. So… maybe love. I don’t just mean a significant other, but friends that bring you happiness and love. I think the connectedness to other humans is important. 

8) who’s your favourite relative?

My mum. I’m not really connected to any other family members. Maybe my cousin who lives in QLD but we have grown apart being far away.

9) have you ever been bullied? Have you ever been a bully?

I think everyone has been both. Most of the time I was bullied though. I was really averse to bullying, I would always befriend people who had no friends. I sometimes got very bossy that bordered on bullying but I was never really a bully. I knew how bad it made me feel and I didn’t think anybody deserved that. I think I slipped up a few times though, I remember doing some really mean things to some people but it was only ever one off events that I got sucked into by like the leader who was a bully, not that it makes it okay. School was hard. I found it hard to fit in.

10) how many houses have you lived in?

4. One in brisbane when I was a baby, the house I live in now, the one I lived in in America and the one we rented when we got back from America before we could move back into the house we live in now.

11) where was the best ice cream you ever had?

Technically it was gelati, but it was still the best. There was this little ice-cream shop near the Trevi fountain in Rome that had the best dark chocolate gelati. TAKE ME BACK!! Anybody want to go to Germany/Easter Europe with me next year? haha
