Taking the situation in consideration, I’m doing relatively well!

It’s been a few days since I was admitted to the hospital, and while we haven’t discovered a cure for the condition that I’m in right now, we’re still hopeful that we’ll find something to counter the Quirk’s effects! 

Yesterday, I met with Aizawa-sensei and Haki-chan to see if Aizawa-sensei’s Quirk would work to negate the effects of her Quirk. 

For those of you who don’t know, Aizawa-sensei is a Pro Hero known as Eraserhead, and his Quirk gives him the ability to nullify the Quirks of others. He uses it to great advantage while performing his hero duties, but he certainly has other tricks up his sleeve than just his Quirk! Since his Quirk isn’t strictly offensive by itself, he’d developed an array of tactics that allow him to battle his opponents once they’ve been rendered, essentially, Quirkless. 

Unfortunately, his Quirk doesn’t appear to be the solution that we’re looking for— while I’m sure that anyone would’ve been able to touch Haki-chan while she was experiencing the effects of Aizawa-sensei’s Quirk, it didn’t seem to induce a change of the growth inside of me. 

I enjoyed meeting Haki-chan, though. She’s a very sweet girl, if a little scared of her own abilities— of course, I don’t blame her at all, but I’m sure that she’ll learn to control her Quirk with time and the proper guidance. I’m more than a little sad that she hasn’t been able to make any friends at the facilities that she’s spent her time at over the past year or so, but I made sure that she knew that she’s found a friend in me. 

I wish all the best for her and her future. 

To an extent— we know much about what medications her parents and the nurse were given, and we know who their caretakers were, and what treatments they underwent during their time as patients, but beyond that... there’s not much to be documented. 

We’re not sure how the nurse survived. 

Kacchan visited her yesterday— he was accompanied by a small team from the hospital. They asked her different questions— about her experience, about what she’d done prior and during her treatment, and about her life in general. 

She spoke about the death of father and a recent promotion that she’d earned at work. Kacchan expressed some, ah, aggravation that she kept talking on and on about her boyfriend, though I’m told that she’s very kind, and that she gave the team her personal phone number in case other questions arise in the future that we’d like to discuss. 

Unfortunately, the nurse couldn’t seem to pinpoint the change that may have saved her life, either. 

We’re not sure if there even was one.

1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

i’ve been writing something vaguely resembling fanfiction since i could hold a pencil! baby me was very invested in The Magic Treehouse series (i wanted to be Annie’s BEST FRIEND) and i distinctly remember writing down Stargate SG-1 fanfiction when i was but a lass.

2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?

right now it’s BNHA all the way down babey. it’s been a long time since a show has really captured me enough to do more than daydream or consume content quietly - after being buried in academic papers for so long, i thank BNHA regularly for giving me back my identity as a fiction writer!

4) What is your favourite genre to write for?

oh, angst definitely. if… that counts as a genre. if it doesn’t, then fantasy for sure! all the savage soul requires is a goddamn novel already and i have so many more things planned >:3c

5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi chaptered stories, which would it be and why?

ohohoho this. is the WORST question. but right now, the reception to The Night We Met (third place in Fic of the Month at @bakudekuficlibrary!) has made it take first in my heart pretty solidly. plus it’s a joy to write so fluidly!

18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

oh my god tons. i usually keep them to myself unless i fully intend on doing at least another chapter. on my ao3, i think the only one i’ve got no plans to continue is Marinette (Marinette!) because that was commissioned work, and i’ve been in and out of the ML fandom waiting to binge the season after the crazy episode schedule.

Script/play in book form was ‘Arcadia’ by Tom Stoppard (I saw that put on by Black Swan the year after I graduated high school and fell in love all over again! Same season I saw the Importance of Being Earnest incidentally ahaha), but the favourite actual book was of course, Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’. Or maybe it was ‘Eva Luna’ by Isabel Allende. Or ‘The Little Prince’? Or fuck, we did ‘Orlando’ last semester Virginia Woolf is so-- [comedically large hooked cane comes from the wings and drags me off stage, still talking]

20. preferred place to write (i.e., in a note book, on your laptop, sketchpad, post-it notes, etc.)?

I tend to swap! Recently my ipad was my primary machine as it was like using a digital notebook--portability and easy readability with an internet connection--but my laptop has been serving me well as I shift away from relying solely on cloud-based digital storage and try to back up my work in easily accessible file formats. (open! source! life!) That said, I was always a big proponent of “hand write first” and I have the collection of filled note books to prove it; digital just allows for a certain kind of ease and speed in the drafting process I use each month. I have on occasion used post-it notes, but that’s a pretty drastic last resource type scenario, even when i’m plotting.

50. what made you laugh the hardest you ever have?

I laugh very easily, but one of the last things that made me hunch over with tears in my eyes uncontrollably was while I was doing a dramatic reading of “Slave Bear of Care-A-Lot” (which can be found HERE to logged in AO3 users, NSFW, so NSFW i am so not kidding) for my housemates and friend.
