CSP uploaded a quick tutorial for pixel art, so I went "nenenenene" and tried it out~

So the tutorial told me to make the canvas 100x100 pixels which certainly works for the process and Discord + desktop Tumblr + Tumblr app editor show the image properly sized, but when you just see the post in app it appears to unfortunately stretch the image, which... :/

With the help of fellow artists, I was able to figure out that you can combat this by pasting your pixel art onto a 490 pixels wide transparent canvas. Thread with better explanation is here.

Some notes because I want to yap:

For the outfit, I adapted it for a Jedi robes kind of style, while trying to my best to keep the color palette and vibe intact.

The lightsaber color may be a bit of a surprise, considering that the Desians are villains and what a green lightsaber is supposed to mean; I did consider red as an alternative (blue as well), but in the end chose green because a) Forcy's wind magic tends to appear green and b) it just looked better imo, since his outfit already has a lot of red and the background has blue.

Speaking of the background, I referenced old Star Wars movie posters for it. A little bit at least, naturally I also wanted to put my own spin on things.

I’m counting Cucumber Quest as a cartoon because Heart Eyes
