Abi had called her, sounding exhausted and more than a little concerned herself. Kat had to agree with her assessment, this wasn't something for her or her younger brother to deal with and, given their history, Kat was likely the best suited for what was to come.

Quietly, she knelt before him, one hand gently lifting his chin so he would look at her before she spoke. It wasn't going to be easy, for either of them, but he deserved the chance to finally heal too.

"Silas? Are you okay?"

"This moping around thing? Not a good look for you. Your dads are worried about you and I brought Chinese and some Disney movies you missed out on. That means you're stuck with me for the next...at least two hours."

Rumors traveled fast, even in a family as large as theirs and it didn't take long for word to reach Kat about who had turned up after so terribly long. She knew she was likely the last person he would want to see, but she had items that needed to be returned to him and it was best she do it in person instead of trying to hide from their shared past.

"It thought I might find you here," she said softly, leaning in the doorframe with a box clutched in her arms, filled with paint brushes and pencils, sketchbooks, and photographs. Memories he ought to have back as they were rightfully his, kept in possession only for the sake of keeping them safe until he returned.

What about you, Kat? Is Silas being back going to be a problem for you? It’s not like the two of you ended on the best terms. Now he’s back and has to relive all that? Ouch.

"No, him being back isn't a problem for me. We parted ways a long time ago and I am happy with my current partners. Silas deserves the chance to remember his life and find his own happiness. Abi deserves to have her father back."
