Nodus Tollens {The Ishidas}
Uryuu had come to the conclusion that he had, at some point, gone completely insane. No powers, no ability to sense reiatsu, it was like walking around in a dream, except not. It was like walking around Karakura, blind and deaf like most people were.
His phone had come with him, but only one number had gone through, and that to voice mail. The idea he was stranded here with only Asano as an ally was appalling, and if he had gone mad, he was failing to find the internal logic to the decision.
Tapping his foot, he looked up to the clock, a little dismayed to find he’d only been in line for less than two minutes, but it felt like a small eternity. Figured, he thought cynically, that a mad-world would still include banks. Ahead of him, there was some sort of issue, and before he could crane his head around the woman in front of him to see what the hold up was, he heard a shriek and moments later, the woman was jostled backwards into him.
Fumbling to keep the coffee in his hand and not on the woman, Uryuu caught a familiar set of smells - lily of the valley and rose. So familiar, but from so long ago, the he found himself stepping away as the woman turned around.
Opening his mouth to preemptively brush off her apology, Uryuu’s eyes widened hugely as they met hers, and he was vaguely aware of hot coffee splashing his leg as suddenly nerveless fingers let go of his cup. He felt the blood rush from his face, and without his permission, he heard his own voice, far off and slightly dazed.
“Mom?”
