Nodus Tollens {The Ishidas}

The look on his face made her heart hurt terribly. This man was utterly convinced that she was his mother. And, well, he could very well be quite right. There were all sorts of odd things that happened around these places that werenât home and time travel - would that really be the oddest thing?
She stepped back slightly to get a better look at his face. Upon seeing his face she had emotions of bliss, anxiety and horror. This man was a spitting image of master Ryuken. She was pulled out of her daze when he mentioned the word dead.
She⊠was dead? How terrible! Or not terrible, depressing perhaps was the better word. What was he saying? Wrong person? You canât just drop a bomb like that and expect to just reverse it that quickly. This was a moment of no taksies backsies.
She quickly sped after the young man making sure get in front of him. She crossed her arms and tapped a foot. âYoung Master Ishida. You must know that it is terribly impolite to turn ones back and run away whilst in the middle of a conversation? If I am indeed your mother you must know I do not approve of such behaviour.â
Her frown softened. âAnd I wish to hear you out. You look very similar to the young master so I must say I am intrigued to learn more. My place is very near by so why donât we have some tea and get our selves cleaned up.â She paused. âI- I donât know if youâre angry at me or something but this place is quite⊠insane.â
She straightened her shoulders. âHello.â She stuck out her hand. âI am Katagiri Kanae and depending on my name I may or may not be your mother.â
Uryuu flinched when she called him young master, made worst by the motherly foot tap. His mother had never had too many reasons to give him that look, but heâd seen it a few times, and not even always at his - at Ryuuken. A minute in front of this woman and he was falling back on bad habits!
âIt was a bit one sided to be considered a conversation,â he muttered, feeling a little cornered. The nerve of this imposter to...to...
âI DO NOT LOOK LIKE RYUUKEN,â he yelped before he could fully reign it in.
Flushing, he adjusted his gasses. This was not going well. âOr, I do but not that much,â he amended. Before his brain caught up with everything else she said. âNo no Iâm not angry-â never mind the yelling, âat you at least.â
Feeling like a drowning man, his mind raced over the offer for tea. âMaybe we could just uh, buy some around the corner?â
