Regarding your post about Asmo's charm power working on MC - you said that it might be a retcon, because in the original game we had an immunity to his charm.

I still believe that if Asmo's charm IS working on us (and it wasn't just a flaw/plothole by the writing/writers) it can still be explained and justified by our magic becoming weaker and weaker. To my recollection, the game has said that MC has always had a great amount of power, even before we were ever brought to the Devildom or made any Pacts. But it was v. much implied that our magic was latent and inactive, because our powers hadn't been awoken in us yet! If that's the case, imho it still explains why MC used to be immune to Asmo's charm...our power was there, it's just that no one was actually aware of it yet at that point.

And now in NB, our magic/power is suddenly being severely weakened (to the point we can't even open a marmalade jar) and therefore, Asmo's charm is becoming effective on us 👀

That's just my interpretation tho, and how I saw things from my own perspective! 😊

Yes, I think you are correct! The retcon thing was me misremembering how things went in the OG because I often forget these details lol. It has since been brought to my attention that MC always had their powers & they just weren’t aware of them. I swear I am constantly forgetting this stuff, this is not the first time this has happened lol.

But anyway, I definitely think the charm worked due to MC’s weakening power because it doesn’t make sense for it to be anything else. (Unless it was a writing mistake, as you said.)

Though if that is the case, it’s certainly interesting to think about just what this means for MC’s power level. I can’t remember exactly when all the times MC resisted his charm happened, but one definitely occurred after the whole labyrinth situation. At that point I believe MC had three pacts already, but Asmo still seemed to find it unusual that MC was not charmed. So if it’s working on MC now, this could mean their magic is weaker than it’s ever been, even before they were awakened to it.

Whatever is causing this weakening of powers, it can’t be good 😦

Hi, about Diavolo's height! The magazine is called B's Log, and the issue featuring Diavolo only released today/tomorrow (September 20th in Japan) and as of right now, I'm not able to find any scans or translations online yet. So it might still be too early, and we'll have to wait for a few more hours?

Until we get confirmed info about the actual content of the Obey Me! character section in the magazine (whether via scans/photos or a fan translation) I don't think we can say for 100% certainty that we know Diavolo's canon height. The promo ad for B's Log shows Diavolo standing in front of a height chart graphic, but it's the same graphic they used for every promo with several different characters from other series.

It's decently likely that Diavolo will be over 200cm tall like people believe, but until we hear anything concrete about the OM articles we won't know for sure. There's a chance that the section about Diavolo will just say "the Demon Prince is tall and imposing" or something like that without actually confirming a specific height, since official character heights have never been stated in OM's history till now.

Mostly I'm just saying that even though people's assumptions might be right, we don't know anything for sure yet, so be careful of possible misinformation ~

Ohh!! Thank you so much for all this information! I had no idea about any of this! Well I’ve heard of B’s Log but I didn’t realize that was the magazine this was from. I see how people might make assumptions based on that 200cm background graphic! But we don’t have a confirmed height & might not get one.

I wonder if they don’t have official heights for a reason? I like to think it’s so that people can imagine them however tall they like. Buuut it’d be cool if they gave us an official height for Diavolo. For some reason I wanna know lol!

I totally hear you - it's definitely a lot of work 😅

The reason I'm recording footage of the gameplay + main story of the original OM right now is because I want to save and archive as much content from the game as possible. With NB being released back in April, a lot of support for the original game has started to die off (no more main story chapters/continuation, no more Pop Quiz events because they just have the same events as NB, no more new cards because it's the same cards as NB, etc)

So if they end up permanently shutting down servers for the original game and it becomes no longer playable, I want to have as much content preserved as I possibly can 🥰

Yeah, I'm afraid that's how it's going to happen, that they're going to shut down the original and then we won't have access to any of that anymore! Recording it all is the smart thing to do for sure.

I recorded a few of my favorite Devilgrams, but that's all I managed to do even though I'm worried about that inevitability. There's just so much content, though if you only do the main story it might not be as bad! At least then you'll still have that part of it.

They should just update the game enough to keep it playable for us, but the chances of that happening seem slim lol. They really made it sound like the original would still be updated as usual, but then that turned out to be the opposite of what has happened.

Though I do wonder if they're considering somehow merging things? Like would they ever move the main story from the original into Nightbringer somehow? I have no idea if that's even possible, but it'd be preferable to them just making the whole thing inaccessible.
