Part one, two, three, four, five, six, seven
*Six months later*
The months passed so fast yet so slow… a lot had changed. You became close with Kate, Deena, and the rest of the group. You started writing a lot including a nonfiction novel of everything that had happened to you and the rest of Shadyside “Goode is Evil”.
Sometimes random Sunnyvalers would come up to you and the rest of the group, fakely apologizing for what you guys had been through. Some days you just laid in bed sobbing. And along the way, you also caught feelings for Kate.

Walking with Kate through town when you saw Maria Nick’s old assistant, sitting on a bench.
“Hello!” Maria said, waving to you.
“Umm hi.” You said, stopping by her with Kate.
“I’m sorry for everything you both went through, I truly am, I know that some people can be so fake about it.”
Maria said in a somber tone.
“Thank you!” You said, softly.
“I was actually born in Shadyside, And I moved back here since everything happened. I got a job at the school.” Maria said, smiling.
“That’s awesome to hear, I’m glad you got away from Sunnyvale!” You said, smiling, happy that for once someone wasn’t being fake about it.
“Me too!” “Well, I hope you both have a great day!” She said.
“Thank you! I hope you have a great day!” You and Kate said in unison, walking away.

You were currently hanging out with Kate at the local park, sitting at a picnic table.
“And he had these weirdass goat heads all over his house!” You said.
“Wait what?” Kate asked, in a shocked tone.
“I haven’t told you that yet?” You asked, laughing.
“No! You didn’t take that as a red flag? I love you, you’re my best friend but what the fuck were you thinking?” She asked.
“I was distracted he didn’t have his uniform on and his hair was all- the evil mother fucker looked good!” You said
“He was nak-“ she asked
“No! He had clothes on, regular clothes.” You said.
“Oh! But I’m still judging you!” She said, hugging you from the side.

“Wanna have a sleepover at your house and listen to Fleetwood Mac, Pixies, and watch Anne of Green Gables?” You asked
“Of course, Would I even be human if I said no? ” She joked, flipping her black hair back with her hand.
“No, no you would not be human.” You said, smiling admiring her smile, hair, her eyes, her everything.

You were currently standing on the steps to Kate’s house.
“Heyyyy bitch!” Kate said, standing on top of the stairs, holding out her arms, offering a hug.
“Heyyy bitch!” You said, walking up the steps to her, you both wrapped your arms around each other, hugging each other.

She grabbed your hand and dragged you to her room, you sat down on her bed, and she put the Fleetwood Mac CD in the CD player.
She sat down beside you, you both laid down staring at the ceiling “So how’s the book coming along?” She asked.
“Good! It’s very therapeutic but also so traumatic writing it.” You said.
“I can imagine. Everyone that’s been hurt by the curse and the Goodes, especially Heather, Ryan, and Simon would soo proud of you for writing it. For getting the full story out, and I’m proud of you.” She said, softly smiling at you.
“Thank you! They would be proud of you too.” You said, looking at her smiling.
“You know, Heather and Ryan would’ve loved you!” You said.
“And Simon would’ve loved you!” She said, looking at you smiling.

You sat up “Umm Kate..” you said
“Yeah?” She asked, sitting up, turning towards you. You turned to face her.
“The Last time I confessed my feelings for someone they tried to kill me two days later. But anywho I like you, not just as friends.” You said all giddy.
“At least I’m not gonna do that! And I like you too!” She said, smiling.
“Can I kiss you?” She asked, putting her hands on your cheeks. You nodded excitedly, your lips met. the kiss full of softness, love, and pure goodness.
“You’re going to call me crazy. but I really think we’re soulmates.” You said as you pulled away from the kiss.
“No, I agree!” She said smiling, putting her arms around you hugging you, and you hugged back. You both fell backwards on the bed, staring into each other’s eyes
“Your eyes are so beautiful!”
“They're just brown eyes.”
“They’re like caramel melted with chocolate.”
“Thank you, my cheesy weirdo beautiful girlfriend!”
She said. You laughed. “I like the sound of that “my girlfriend”. ” You said.
“Wanna watch Anne of Green Gables now?” She asked, smiling.
“Of course!” You said, smiling.
“I’ll get the movie ready, you get the popcorn? Can I trust you with the popcorn? ” She asked.
You jokingly glared at her.
“What? Last time you burned it, and made the whole house reek of burnt popcorn.” She said, laughing, getting up and walked over to her dresser which the tv was on top of. Putting the VHS in.
You got up, walking out of her room to the kitchen, making the popcorn.

You walked back to her room, a popcorn bowl in one hand and a box of M&Ms in the other.
Kate sat on the bed waiting
“Here’s the NON BURNT popcorn!” You joked, handing her the bowl.
“Thank you! Did you get the M&Ms?” She asked, smiling.
“Of course!” You said, handing her the M&Ms.
She opened the box, pouring them into the popcorn.
You sat down beside her, resting your head on her shoulder.
You pushed the play button on the remote, and the movie started.

You both laid down, you rested your head on the plush pillow.
You turned, laying on your side facing Kate, you wrapped your arm around her waist and rested your head on her chest. Feeling the soft material of her Care Bear shirt against your cheek.
“This is the happiest I’ve been in a while.” You said, softly smiling.
“This is the happiest I’ve been in a while too.” She said, smiling, kissing the top of your head, and wrapped her arm around your shoulder.
You slowly fell asleep in her arms.

*The next morning*
“Y/n?” Kate asked, you slowly opened your eyes, the room bright, sun shining through her curtains, Looking beside you at Kate
“I’m gay- what-?” You asked, groggily.
She laughed “Uh, good morning!” She said, smiling, brushing a piece of your hair behind your ear.
“Good morning!” You said, smiling.

You walked down the steps of Kate’s house, holding hands with Kate.
“Hey.” Kate said awkwardly to your friends Deena, Sam, and Josh who were standing by the stairs of her house.
“Hi, wait, are you two together? We really are the gay group!” Deena said, laughing and smiling, holding hands with Sam.
“Yeah. And we really are!” Kate said, giggling.
You both walked down the stairs.
“Group hug!” You said, smiling, wrapping your arms around Kate.
Deena wrapped her arms around you both, then Sam and Josh joined the group hug.

you never imagined that you’d be spending your night in the middle of a grocery store plotting how to kill your best friends ex-girlfriend that’s not really an ex. you were currently coming up with a plan to stop some undead serial killers from well, trying to kill you. “are we sure this is going to work? i mean, we have to take in all possibilities!” you squeak while pacing back and forth, stressed out beyond belief. “y/n! calm down, everything will go according to plan. that’s why kate’s going to stay here with deena and make sure everything goes according to plan.” simon says grabbing your shoulders to stop your pacing.
you stood quietly watching deena paint sams blood on everyone, “hey,” a soft voice whispers, “are you alright?” kate whispers looking into your stressed eyes, worry filling hers. “i will be,” you start “as long as you’re okay.” you finish pulling her in for a quick kiss. “alright, ew! enough lovebirds, it’s your turn y/n.” josh fake gags while interrupting your sweet moment, making you guys giggle and roll your eyes. you can feel the anxiety and dread filling you as deena paints a bloody ‘x’ on your skin.
you were currently walking down the isle looking for a weapon to defend yourself if need be. you were at the kitchen appliances looking for the sharpest object you could find when you heard rustling. you quickly snap your head towards the sound, seeing nothing you grab the closest knife near you and continue down the isle. suddenly, the rustling was closer, you started to panic. you start speeding up and bump into something. “what the hell-” you whisper to yourself looking up to see what you hit, one second you were walking peacefully the next you were face to face with a guy in a skull mask. you let out a ear-ringing scream and run.
kates head snapped up at the sound, “what was that! was that y/n?! we have to help them! oh my god deena, what do we do?” she says frantically, while in the midst of her panic she mixed up the pills that sam was supposed to take. “shit!” deena curses, she lifts sam up and walks up to the fish tank, “go! go help her!” deena shoos the poor girl away. kate runs aimlessly, she doesn’t know where you are. “y/n!” she screams out.
you hear kate screaming for you but you can’t answer, you were terrified. you kept running not knowing where you were going until you realized you were trapped, you slowly turn around to see skull mask edging towards you with a shiny knife in his hand. tears stream down your face and you prepare yourself. as skull mask got closer you used the knife you had found and stabbed him, though it barely doing any damage it stunned him for a bit giving you enough time to run away. this time, you didn’t get away. he grabbed your leg and pulled you back, you flip over trying to fight him off but he was stronger. he raises his knife and it comes down and all you feel is a soaring pain in your stomach. you could barely feel anything, you were so busy trying to fight him off that you didn’t realize you had been stabbed multiple times.
“oh my god, y/n!” kate screeches when she sees you, she grabs the knife that you dropped previously and stabbed skull mask in the back of his head, causing him to be temporarily dead. she grabbed you gently and brought you back to deena, “what do we do! what do we do, deena?!” she says crying and panicking. she wasn’t ready to lose you. no one was. “kate, i need you to calm down. okay? i love you, you do know that right.” you let out in short breaths, “no! don’t you dare say that! you’re fine,” she says grabbing a towel she found on the floor and applied pressure to the wound, “please don’t say goodbye.” she says between chocked sobs, your heart broke listening to her cry. she hated hearing you crying. while everything in the background faded, you could only focus on her. deena, josh, and simon were all currently trying to revive sam but you didn’t care.
“please don’t leave me, kate. i don’t want to be alone. please.” you start sobbing uncontrollably, she holds you against her, finally giving up knowing nothing is going to work unless you were at a hospital. “i’m not leaving. ever.” she says kissing the top of your head repeatedly, “y’know, this whole time. my whole life- you were the reason. you mean everything to me. i knew i loved you the moment i saw you.” you start staring up into her doe brown eyes, “you’re the reason i’m still here.” you say memorizing her features one last time. “please be okay.” she whispers watching the life slowly leave your eyes, “i love you so much.” you whisper using your last breath. “no, no, no. you can’t leave me- you said you’d be alright. please be okay, y/n.” she panics realizing you were gone.
she held your body close to her, sobs leaving her body, her body shaking as she cradled the love of her life in her arms. all her friends looking away sadly, it hurt them to watch their best friend in so much pain. “please be okay…” she whispers one last time, before closing your eyes.
