Okay Jack DOES end up with Katherine.

But it doesn't work.

They have fun together and they love to piss off Pulitzer, but they see each other as friends.

Also they discover that they're bisexual together and they talk about that.

They help each other grow and learn about themselves -Jack forces Katherine to be less classist and Katherine is really analytical and would tell Jack things about himself he hadn't think about.

Things such as the fact that he likes Davey.

She is really excited about Jack crush and she tries to help him flirt with Davey.

She is really happy when they get together. She likes her friends being happy and she thinks they're cute together --also she's proud of herself because she has worked too hard for them to get together.

-but then she started her own magazine aimed towards women that's political and focuses on beauty and its just the best thing in the world and her pride and joy

-she always gets coffee every morning, but it has to be a coffee shop that makes sure it's fair trade because yes that needs to be done

-stop going to starbucks all the time

-she kills anyone at words with friends or any of those types of games

-her and Davey had a huge rivalry on trivia crack when that was big because they were really the only ones who could provide a challenge for the other

-she usually always win the sports questions against Davey unless he's with Jack

-most of her wardrobe is pink and she has a lot of rose gold jewelry

-also she always does a perfect wing??? like what???

-she's just like the perfect all around woman

-but she often pretends she's more put together than she actually is

Here is some headcanons: (Modern AU and in collage)

Race: He always gets unbelievably drunk and Spot has to take care of him. He also ended up confessing his love for Spot on New Year's a few times but they never talked it out because he was wasted and didn't remeber anything the next day. Also he and Spot have a tradition of kissing when the clock hits midnight even before they started dating.

Jack: He's always on call with Miss Medda to whish her Happy New Year on time. He also spends half of the party dancing and having jello shots and half of the party sitting with Davey in a secluded area that the other claims as his safe spot. (They kiss at midnight and we're both dead on this hill.)

Davey: Up until he turned 21 he spent the New Year's with his parents. He refused to party and even after he met the Newsies he'd rather sit with two older people watching a concert on TV then party. Les: He had to stay with them till he was 17 then he started to go out first with people his age then with David's friends. Sometimes he makes the DJ play purposefully bad music just to have fun by watching everyone dance to it.

Spot: Every year he says he won't come by and he especially won't take care of Race but he always does. He also likes to join Davey in their quiet corner and they always whish each other a Peaceful Year with the rest of the group.

Katherine: She dances all night, the next day everyone hears her complain about her legs hurting and she does not take constructive criticism from anyone telling her to maybe not dance as much. She'll get a little tipsy and dance to any music that they play. (Pulitzer didn't let her leave the house at New Years till she was in collage and that's her way of going about it)

Sarah: At first she dances with her girlfriend then she'll go sit with Dave or Elmer. She also always watches the fireworks but she'll often fall asleep before midnight. She says it's nice that she gets to wake up to New Year.

Crutchie: He also spends most of the night with Dave. He drinks cherry Coke and makes a cute list for his New Year's Resolution but much like Sarah he often falls asleep before midnight. He will sing at Karaoke though and he usually picks some musicals too.

Musician Newsies? Like what instrument they'd play?

Davey: Piano or violin and I'm so unable to choose I'm leaving you with those two options

Jack: Ukulele (maybe even guitar)

Katherine: she was forced to play piano but didn't like it. Not a very musically talented person imo

Sarah: Sarah sings! (Just like Davey but ykyk) she doesn't play any instruments but has a beautiful voice!

Race: hear me out squishy keys what's it called? Accordion! Accordion is what I meant! And also harmonica to annoy everyone around him

Spot: Honestly if he could he'd probably play the drums but in canon era that this is written for I guess nothing :(

Crutchie: flute or guitar

Les: harmonica for the same reasons as Race

When Sarah and Katherine get married Katherine changes her name to Jacobs to fully erase the Pulitzer part. She still uses Plumber as a pen name but like now it's also fully formal

(Hs au) By the way Sarah and Katherine once spent two periods arguing with some guy about child labor and fast fashion. Just destroying all of the arguments he had.

Source: me and my friend did that once and it was the best English lesson I ever had (We sat on two opposite sides of the room and gave each other side eyes when something very stupid was said)
