I finished Infinite Space last night.
I accidentally spoiled a great deal of plot points before they happened, so the ending wasn't that hard-hitting. I was hoping for an animated cutscene to finish the game, to revive Kira and wrap up the loose ends. But it played over the credits. I can't deny I was disappointed.
But the game was so good. The amount of content is incredible, the story holds up well (though a few plot points are hinted at then left till the end of the game) and the characters were awesome. The fridge logic of the beginning, with Yuri being alone to suddenly having a sister, hit me like a sack of shit. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
Can you believe I thought Nia had survived? I spent the whole game waiting for her to pop up again, to no avail. When Katida appeared, my jaw dropped: I thought it was Nia with an adrenaline makeover, or even hers and Eremon's kid or something. Maybe she'd been kept locked up and used as a sex slave or something? But no, it was Katida. And she really was dead. That was a real shame.
I might play this on New Game+ even.
