Australian duo KAYEX dazzled us last year with their debut single My Friends, a banging electronica and nu-disco track. Turns out, the pair has followed that shining first single up with two new songs this year already, both of which are well worthy of sonic oggling. The Get Up is a swanky strutting delight with lavish funk guitars and glorious synths. The dance pop, electro house, and funky pop smelter stands for individuality and lauds happiness through self-expression. KAYEX also released a third single named Toe To Toe earlier this month, serving up a swooning flurry of dance rock-imbued disco pop and electro-pop on the smooth swaggering tune, evoking some Prince, Cherub, and recently buzzing new act Just Loud in the process. If I were friends with new Australian duo Kayex, I’d be pretty chuffed that they’ve named their debut single My Friends, especially since it’s such a banging tune, too. I don’t know what it is about Australia and their electronic music, but this pair have me sitting on the edge of my seat with excitement with their lustrous glowing house and splashy jolting nu-disco in the way so many other Australian bands have done in the past (ie. RÜFÜS DU SOL, Flight Facilities, and more). Kayex’s opulent debut can also be streamed off of Soundcloud below.
