The most recent dance concert I photographed just this Wednesday. I've been photographing for Kate Corby & Dancers for the last four years, so it was really a pleasure working with her again. Kate's choreography is a good challenge for me. The dancers' next movement, entrance or exit, lighting design, or mood of the piece is nearly always unpredictable, which requires me to be highly sensitive to these changes so I can control the image I'm taking artistically and technically. Also in the concert was a piece by the UW-Madison Dance Department's Guest Artist, Danielle Russo, who I had the wonderful privilege of taking class with her and filming and photographing her classes and rehearsals. I actually credit Danielle with soaking my interest in screendance and dance media after seeing a solo she choreographed for Jin-Wen Yu last year using live video.
