Nicknames: Khanyi, Kay, Kiki, Starlight

Khanyi has always considered herself ordinary - raised in a loving family, grounded, and content in the quiet security of anonymity. But her life has never been entirely untouched by the spotlight. With a father who manages celebrities, a mother who gained public attention through reality television, and best friends who rose from obscurity to global fame, Khanyi grows up orbiting a world that she prefers to observe than participate in. She watches it all from the sidelines, comfortable in the shadows, even as the people closest to her are pulled further into the light.

Now, fresh out of university and determined to build a life on her own terms, Khanyi steps into what should be a simple new beginning - her first "big girl" home. The marker of her first real piece of independence. But what awaits her there begins to unravel the balance she’s always relied on. Unexpected forces disrupt her sense of control, and Khanyi is drawn into a reality she can't fully ignore. The question is no longer whether she can stay out of the spotlight, but what it might cost her to try.

Khanyi's Girls 🫰🏾 (Revamped)

Thyra Gaye

Thyra is the daughter of Jerome and Maddie Gaye, with Maddie being Norbert's (Khanyi's dad) older sister. As the oldest of the cousins, Thyra’s always felt this sense of responsibility to protect Khanyisa (occassionally, to her mild annoyance). Regardless of this, the two have always been close and always fought in each other’s corners. Thyra finally got her big break as a rapper around the time Khanyi's twin siblings were born, and has continued excelling in her career. Thyra's schedule and career keeps her very busy. But she will take any chance she can get to make sure she sees her cousin.

Anissa Jones

Anissa is the daughter of James and Marlene Jones, with James being Doreen's (Khanyi's mum) older brother. Both Anissa and Khanyi have always felt like they were twin sisters, especially as they were both born within weeks of each other. Khanyi and Anissa share a very close and jokesters family dynamic between each other. They as thick as thieves, with the two, usually, encouraging each other’s mischief. Being the creative soul she is, Anissa spends her working life at 1000 Words Art Gallery building a name for herself as the resident artist for the gallery.

Elise Miller

Elise and Khanyi have been friends from when they both lived in Newcrest and attended Newcrest Primary School together. They were pretty much like sisters in many ways. Elise grew up an only child to Romeo and Tessa Miller. Elsie and her family ended up moving to Britechester after her dad became the coach for Foxbury Institute’s football team. Partway through high school, the Millers moved to San Myshuno after Romeo retired from coaching. Romeo had no living family members and wanted to be close to his wife’s family, and wanted to live closer to Tessa’s family. Ever since the Millers moved, Khanyi and Elise drifted apart slightly, however and despite the distance, they stayed in touch through various life events, like heartbreak, career developments and Khanyi’s graduation. Elise works as an undertaker at SIMple Ends Crematorium and treasures being able to work at a place where her personality allows her to flourish.
