TRANS JOY IS RESISTANCE. TRANS SURVIVAL IS RESISTANCE. RESIST.
To all of my queer and trans siblings, we will survive.
To my fellow beautiful Black and Brown brothers and sisters, we will survive.
To my fellow women, we will survive.
To our friends who were once strangers across the ocean in Palestine, The Congo, Sudan, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran, and more, we will survive.
To the next generation, we will survive, so you can too.
To fight, is to survive, so that’s what we’ll continue to do.
Let Mother vote! Don't worry, it's all right We'll still be there to hold you close And tuck you in at night It won't disrupt your lives We'll still be loyal wives So mister, won't you please let mother vote?
If there's an election happening in your state, you owe it to your mother to vote. And after you vote, call your representatives and let them know you support the Democrats in their fight for healthcare, and then, keep marching.
We did not end injustice and neither will you But still, we made strides so we know you can too Make peace with our incomplete power and use it for good ‘Cause there’s so much to do The gains will feel small and the losses too large Keep marching, keep marching You’ll rarely agree with whoever’s in charge Keep marching, keep marching ‘Cause your ancestors are all the proof you need That progress is possible, not guaranteed It will only be made if we keep marching, Keep marching on Keep marching on
Tony Awards Flashback
Shaina Taub and the company of Suffs perform "Keep Marching" at the 77th Tony Awards in 2024.
We Demand Equality!
I was hoping for The March/We Demand Equality but still loved Keep Marching
I can’t say enough about how much Suffs touched me! I just love it so much!
But I also think they should have avoided the controversy of Hilary and had Grace McLean introduce the performance in character as President Wilson.
Thank god.
This cannot bring Ahmaud back to his family. It cannot bring Ahmaud or his family and friends true justice. But it is a very good step in the right direction, for the Arbery family and for our nation.
Keep marching, keep chanting, keep advocating. White people especially need to continue to speak in defense of Black lives. Together, we will find true justice and true peace.
"Why are we shocked that people are asking for revolutionary change?"
"This doesn't happen, in a vacuum, it happens in a system. When you became an American citizen, you don't just get to own a country's excellence, you have to own it's failures...we have to be the ones who pull the cop off his neck."
Speaking as an American citizen from birth, this is the great American weakness: acknowledging and repairing our failures, and thinking that Constitutional ideals for equality is enough. No. Ideals are unrealized goals, greatness is in the realization. There is nothing more patriotic than a call to action airing and standing against weakness, corruption, and abuse of power because we want/need to be better.
In the words of Hasan: We've got to get our nerd s*** on right now!
