To be honest, I’m really really excited for the new Keeper book. I think in many ways Unlocked mirrors Neverseen, in that it’s a game changing book. Stakes have been changed, in Neverseen it’s with a better look at the enemy, and in Unlocked, it’s bringing the previously “hidden” war into broad daylight. Plus, Keefe runs away at the end lol. No matter your opinion on him, he does tend to take over a scene, and so having him be far away would give more room for the background characters to be developed more, which seems to be the case if Linh’s short story is any indication. It hints at conflict between the Song Twins, which would be interesting to unfold. Plus, one thing I really hope happens is some sort of reconciliation arc for Fitz. He’s made some questionable decisions, like everyone else, and I think the narrative is more clear on him that those decisions aren’t that great. However, he’s been a starting main character, and a “corruption arc” so to speak doesn’t feel like the way that Shannon wants to go with it. It would be pretty disappointing if Fitz was left in the state he was, and I hope Keeper 9 will give him character development or even just some kind of closure. I also hope he is able to develop some relationships of his own, since his previous big ones with Sophie, Keefe, and his brother are all pretty frayed. Also, I hope we get to see a different side of Ro, since previously she’s been mostly comedic relief with Keefe, as well as his wingman. I’d really like to see more of her as the Ogre King’s daughter, now that she doesn’t have to guard Keefe.

We learned the title last year on January 31!! We are close to finding out what the new book is to be!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!
