A clear night sky. It felt like ages since Jack had laid eyes on the stars. Even though he knew he wasn’t ‘home’ anymore, lost in this strange new place, he half expected to see the swirling red in the sky anytime he turns his gaze upwards.

The stars bring just a touch of melancholy to him, but his stare remains as devoid of his inner emotion as usual as he looks towards the sky.

“It’s a nice night. I see why people like being out here at this time.”

Now even though the magic of Halloween was clearly in the air, it didn’t mean Mumei would magically be able to master the magic he could now use thanks to his costume. Sure it gave him the confidence, but definitely not the ability to know when to stop. Thus he was screaming a bit while trying to stop his Sword Flight technique from the Wind Magic. 

“MY MAIN SKILL IS RENDING, I SHOULD KNOW BETTER BUT I COULDN’T RESIST!!!!!!!!” But Mumei could fly with Boundless Tail, not that he used it all that often. 

“LADY, GET OUT OF THE WAY- I CAN’T STOP!!!!!”

It had been a bad idea to go out into a crowded street. He had never been somewhere with so many people, so he hadn’t expected them to ignore and practically shove him aside as they continued on their way. Everyone was so much bigger than him! With every person that bumped into him, he grew closer and closer to tears. Someone, probably not even seeing him at all, ran into him with such force he had to grab onto the legs of a nearby adult to keep from falling over.

“Sorry...” Shulk said to the ground, still holding onto the person’s legs. He was shy even at the best of times, and now with being on the verge of tears he wanted nothing more than to hide his face against the legs in front of him. Knowing that wouldn’t be polite, he instead looked up at the person he’d accidentally caught.

The woman had blonde hair in a style he had never seen. His mom had told him that blonde hair was generally rare among Homs, but more common in his Colony than others. Maybe this lady was from the same Colony as him?

“Excuse me? I’m lost.” He was still clinging to her legs, not wanting to be lost in the crowd again. “Do you know the way back to the Colony?”

He had been trying to get out more and see different parts of the city, but as soon as his drone had flown over a park inhabited by strange fluffy creatures he couldn’t help but land.

“Awww, you’re sooo cute!” Ai cooed at a scottie puppy with a monitor for a head. The pup rolled over and he started rubbing the soft belly with his small hands. “You remind me of a couple Duel Monsters I used to know.” The scottie made a small beeping sound and suddenly Ai found himself surrounded with a dozen similar creatures.

“Wow! Look at all the different varieties you guys come in! You’re all such good pups.” He used his drone to hover and scratch the back of a taller one with spotted fur.

“Who takes care of you? Do you have names?” The pups didn’t (or couldn’t?) answer him, but that was no good. In Ai’s opinion, every living thing should have a suitable name. The only information given on Ai’s digital map was that this place was called ‘Netwalk’. “I don’t want to give you names you if you’ve already been named by someone who loves you, but...” He noticed someone nearby with platinum blonde hair.

“HEY!”

He shouted and flew his drone a little higher, trying to get their attention.

“Hello! Do you come here often? Would you happen to know if any of these pups have names?”

As Kurogane continued his search around the island, he came across a small section of stalls just outside of the beach; though everything they had to offer was generally the same. The drinks, the food, and even the items they were selling all looked like strange fruits; some he could recognize as melon’s they had similar in Nihon, which left him to wonder if they were all supposed to be the same thing.

But, the whole area was a little out of his interests. The sun was hot, which only increased the aggravation he was feeling by having his sword ripped away from him after being forced into some strange world. He needed something to cool his edge, but everything here was too tame-- which led him to reach out to someone he could only hope to be a local.

“Oi, where can I get an actual drink around here?”
