Let’s not forget, Carly was dead set getting BMJason to believe he was Jason, and he was being pressured from multiple people except Sam, and he was so desperately trying to figure out who he was when he was Elizabeth, and had already been lied to about who he might’ve been by Hayden and Ric, so his behavior is 100% understandable and expected.
I agree, his emotions are completely justified to me. Because he has investment in Sam, and their future together. With so many things suddenly up in the air, he just hopes so much that at the end of all this, he still has Sam and his family. It has little to do with losing “Jason Morgan” and way more to do with his family that he loves with everything that he has.
