Inside Scoop: Gubernatorial candidate opposes SB 36
Gubernatorial candidate Ken Spaudling came out against the Greensboro City Council redistricting bill Monday.
Spaulding said the General Assembly is disrespecting and disregarding local government with "unnecessary intervention."
"I am opposed to state legislative overreach into the uniquely local affairs of our towns, cities and counties. It is especially repugnant when these laws seek to redistrict local government for the pure purpose of divisive political partisan gain," Spaulding said in a press release.
Spaulding called on Gov. Pat McCrory to lobby House Speaker Tim Moore to get a referendum added to Senate Bill 36.
