"Menos que nada é uma tentativa de mostrar todas as consequências ontológicas desse 'eppur si muove'. Eis a fórmula em sua forma mais elementar: "mover-se" é o esforço de alcançar o vazio, isto é, "coisas se movem", existe algo, ao invés de nada, não porque a realidade é, em excesso, mais que o nada, mas porque a realidade é menos que nada. É por isso que a realidade precisa ser suplementada pela ficção: para ocultar seu vazio.
