Confession: I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the kindly Kennel Master at Ostagar for how diligently he worked to save the sick Mabari, and how courteous he was to the Warden regardless of their race, gender, or magical ability.

Returning home
My weekend is over and I'm coming back from my birthday weekend happy but exhausted. If anyone needs me, come find me in my quarters.
/Falls face first on the couch and dozes off
So far, the days have been rainy and ugly. Finally settled in to their kennels, my poor pups have to swim to dry land to use the bathroom.
Guess they have to swim to a dry spot to make a wet spot.
/looks around and sighs/
Suddenly I wish I knew where I packed my spiced cider.
And to know if it’s true that the Crown Prince of Starkhaven actually bows to a dog.
First day at Skyhold
I've been accepted to run the Corgi kernel for the Inquisition. I hate to admit that I'm a bit nervous. I need to report to Commander Cullen after I get settled. So far there place seems quiet enough as I prepare my site for the pups that are on their way. Here goes nothing
My head had been full of images of what a Corgi Kennel Master would look like if the Inquisition would require one. I've gone far enough to even think of their uniforms, much like Sister Leliana uses for her spies. (Rouge, Warrior etc)
And the even BIGGER thought to make said outfit for my actual dog.
This is all your fault, @cullensmoulderford
Tools of the Trade Series: The Kennel Master
"The largest roles for the Russian dogs [in World War II] were mine detection and the destruction of tanks." - A CENTRALIZED SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR THE MILITARY WORKING DOG PROGRAM, page 14, by Major Denzil F Frost (boldface mine)
Dogs (whether real or roleplayed), like horses, aren't a common feature at larps- and like horses, there is a certain amount of willing suspension of disbelief about the absence of one of humanity's oldest and most effective partners in battle.
Unlike horses, dogs are used extensively in the modern era. (Though it should be noted that horses haven't entirely disappeared.) Dogs certainly have a more varied role in modern combat: patrol, sentry, scouting, narcotics detection, explosives detection, and tracking are all roles dogs were trained and used for just by the US military during Vietnam (page 18). And there is a long history in the west of dogs used for the hunt- all of which means "kennel master" is a title that might be taken by a character in any number of fictional settings.
The tools of a kennel master (or servant of one) would include:
The skill to train and control dogs of diverse temperaments
Combs (source)
Leads/leashes (source)
Possibly... maybe... a canine chastity belt, to prevent unwanted breeding
Well-padded arm covers to train attack dogs (source)
Protective gear for war dogs (chainmail and/or bulletproof vests, for example)
A certain resistance to the annoyances of fleas- or, you know, flea powders
