Sneak peek at the kennett christmas oneshot (regency era because I've been watching too much bridgerton)
Kol sat the bottom of the stairs awaiting Bonnie’s arrival. Everything was gilded gold and the chandelier reflected light making the space appear to glow. Bonnie must be fussing more with her appearance than usual, because ordinarily she would have been here by now. His heart beat a little faster at the thought. Bonnie was a rare beauty.
As if his thoughts had summoned her, she appeared at the top of the wide, golden staircase. Her hair was up in an elaborate bun, curls framing her face like an angelic halo. The sky-blue dress was entirely eclipsed by her beauty. The puff sleeves and sweetheart neckline showcased a generous amount of her breasts. Kol had the fleeting thought he would need to gouge out eyes. The gown gave the appearance of being open in the middle–white silk decorated with pearl strings. The pearl strings were solely responsible for holding the front together. White gloves covered her delicate hands and a small white lace fan was wrapped around her wrist. The pearls on her neck and dangling from her ears nearly glowed in the light.
Slowly, Bonnie descended the stairs as Kol rose to his feet completely awestruck. He snapped back to attention, meeting her at the last step and offering his hand. Bonnie took it, smiling sweetly up at him.
