Making jelly tonight. #blackberrypreserves to be specific. Some of our fresh ones went bad (because I took too long to do this) so we had to dip into our frozen ones too. I was hoping to catch one of the lids making it “boing” sound as it sprang down, but I missed them. I lost my old recipe for this so I had to consult the Internet and the recipe I found needed WAY too much sugar, so I think this batch may be too sweet. Despite the hot day and a stressful week, I spent all day in the kitchen. It was so hot the AC couldn't keep up, thanks to the big boiling pot in constant use on the stove. It must have been 100°F in the kitchen. Today's endeavors included blueberry jam (old school, no boxed pectin, added an apple instead), spiced pears, spiced peaches, pear moonshine jam, and peach jam.
