Fanfic Rec #62 James T. Kirk/Spock (Star Trek) part 3
Knitting Lessons by blcwriter Spock's mother knit him a sweater, which develops a hole. Kirk knits it shut-- their friendship develops from there. For K/S Advent 2009.
Five and One: I wanna Hold Your Hand by Ywain Penbrydd (penbrydd) Spock's flirting is totally unintelligible to Kirk, but it's enough to make the Ambassador's entourage retch.
Cause and Effect by Ragdoll (Keshka) In the midst of Vulcan's destruction, Jim Kirk saves the life of a Human woman he only later learns the name of: Amanda Grayson. It isn’t long before Spock quickly finds gratitude transforming into a crippling and terribly inconvenient attraction.
high water by spqr “Andorian wine is very potent,” Spock says. “How much did you consume?” Jim chuckles. “Not enough. Not — hey.” His smile turns to a tight frown, and his gaze is startlingly clear when it finds Spock’s. His grip on Spock’s knee tightens. “Can you un-meld someone?” >or: Jim's got all of Spock Prime's memories crammed in his head
Grossly Undeserved by summerofspock James T. Kirk, highly recommended Starfleet Academy professor and certified mess.
My Characters 2: Keshka
Coming in on the last entry of the week with something special: A Starfinder character! Keshka is the first Starfinder character I will be playing when I finally manage to play the new system.
Growing up on a mostly-dwarven mining colony as a shirren (a genderqueer female/host identifying one at that, she/they pronouns) Keshka had difficulty making friends, but she admired how dwarven culture banked on working together supporting each other. As she came of age, she looked set to start training as a mineral sample tester like her parents.
That is, until the miners hollowing out an asteroid broke through into a chamber filled with akata cocoons, the void-adapted beasts terrorizing the colony, that is until the mining foreman organized a counter-offensive.
Quickly modifying a few sets of load-lifter suits, foreman and a few other stalwart dwarves marched on the akata brood and the poor unfortunates turned into void zombies, crushing them under pneumatic fists and magnetic jackhammers.
Having been stuck in a locked room above the loading dock, young Keshka saw the whole thing, and was inspired by their dedication to protecting the other miners and the might such powered suits could generate. After the infestation was cleared out, she announced her choice and departed, enrolling at a military academy.
Fresh out of that academy, she now plies the stars as a mercenary, offering protection to those who need it.
Cheery and perky, Keshka mixes a strong sense of communal responsibility for others with an energetic attitude. This is an individual who enjoys having fun with the people she protects, and she enjoys picking exotic, complex cocktails when she drinks, and she is also something of a metalhead, loving the scream of metal strings.
Physically, they are a green shirren with blue and green striped patterns on their compound eyes, though they are a bit short for their kind. They are, however, quite muscular, as much as that muscle can show under their carapace, due to her military training days.
Keshka prefers heavier armors with incorporated movement assisting components, as well as full power armor.
Specializing in heavy armor as she does, its no surprise that I plan to build her as a soldier with the armor storm fighting style, with a secondary in sharpshooter or bombard depending on whether I favor energy weapons or explosives with her. She would start with heavy armors, but then move on to power armor as soon as possible (with heavy armor as backup if she runs out of power), and fights both in melee with hammer fist strikes, and at range with big guns, being the epitome of gun tank.
And that does it for this week’s special! I hope you enjoyed and were inspired by it!
