kette had her followup appointment today and i am over the moon with what we were told, basically she's totally recovered, her surgery site healed well, there was no trouble taking out the stitches (the vet got hollie and i to hold her for this as kette Hates the vet nurses, the vet, being at the vet, and everything that entails) and the urinary condition she was diagnosed with will be lifelong (and in fact it is likely she had it from birth) but manageable with some diet changes. when we discussed the diet changes, because we've been trialling them the past week, we got confirmation that as long as she's eating the dry food that will keep it all under control, the wet food isn't necessary. the vet and her staff have been referring to kette as "wonder cat" given how incredible her survival and recovery have been. i am just really, really happy with this outcome and hopefully all four of my babies will stay healthy and happy from now on.

i don't talk about my cats on here a lot but i love them so much and i feel like you guys should know some stuff about them. so:
hela - the brightest star in the sky in cat form, a sweet little tuxedo with an attitude. her favourite things are treats, fluffy beds and plush blankets. she can't meow, so communicates almost entirely through "ouh ouh" noises. she loves to supervise us in the kitchen. we call her our little sous chef.
kette - has a mean case of resting bitch face and perpetually looks like she hates everyone personally. in reality, she loves to rub her face on people and cover them in her luxurious, long grey fur. doesn't really like other cats but tolerates her sisters (even, on occasion, allowing the orange to cuddle up to her.) is extremely fussy about food and prefers fish-flavoured everything.
clementine - a dilute orange tabby who has zero brain cells, except when she's committing war crimes on other members of the household. she loves playing in water but is terrified of the shower and will scream at the bathroom door if she can hear it running and suspects one of us is in it. we call her "madam mayhem" because she wreaks havoc on every room she's left alone in.
bonus:
our foster kitten, bug (government name cassie) - a tiny grey tabby whose hobbies including Biting, Chasing, and Purring. we raised her from birth and she came to us placenta still attached. she has black stripes on her white tummy and is, possibly, the cutest creature in all existence. she was the cause of a lot of sleepless nights through march and april, but now she's a big girl and getting ready to go to her forever home!
