I think I will be posting some notes about my rewrite of Talamasca here as a supplementary material.

I hate how the show treats women. They can only be two things.

1. A mother figure (Helen, Ana, Foster mom)

2. A love interest (Keves, Doris, Olive).

Out of named women we have multiple episode appearances from Helen, Doris and Olive. Actually meaningful to the characters and plot — Doris and Helen.

Show's writing struggles a lot with events happening to Guy opposed to Guy having agency and causing the events to happen. However, this is true for universally all female characters with Helen as an exception + Doris getting Guy out of motherhouse(which does not really make sense within the narrative).

We see Keves for 5 minutes alive, for 2 dead. She is an incosequential, coquette seductress with no real personality beside her sexual interest in Guy and shoehorned dead daughter montage in ep6.

Did she know she was in danger? What relationship did she have with Archie (he went directly into her apartment, the door was open)? Was she okay with her coven essentially pimping her out for the "greater good" of the community (so much that her specialties are "seduction & extraction" on the website, implying she has been doing it for some time). Additional implication that she slept with Guy because Archie was onto Doris, her mother figure? Never addressed??????????

Has she ever considered leaving? Did she love Doris? Has she resented her because Doris never prevented her from being used as a tool by the coven — the exact same thing Talamasca was doing to her (and Olive btw, women can only seduce in this show).

Anyway, it pissed me off so fucking much I will be writing her in as an actual character. The fic will be pure canon divergence because I despise the way canon is written.

I hope to deliver better and gayer Talamasca to y'all.

P.S. I literally forgot about Soledad because she seduces a dude for 2 minutes and then dies immediately. This is embarassing. Writers should be embarassed.
