So, I've decided to do the British thing again beginning January 1st. I've always had this incredible fascination with London. To my shame, ive never been. At any rate, July 2014 I spent the entire month with the accent. I wrote about it most nights on my blog if you scroll a bit you'll see my writings. Also I don't pretend I from The U.K. I don't like that sort of pretending bc im not trying to fool anyone but i honestly feel most comfortable using a British accent. I'm a New yorker if u must know. Im really very excited about it. I had such positive experiences and i look forward to living with that sort of daily imagination again. I don't have any end date in mind either. We'll see how it goes and how badly I can freak my mom out. Lol

British Accent Day 30 Final log
Today was the very last day of my committment to use a British accent. What have i learned? Well, this entire thing was some sort of unconscious plot to free myself to use it whenever i want. And thats exactly what Im going to do. I also cant say i felt people who didnt know me treated me any differently. All i noticed was curiosity and perky ears. The accent just sounds very nice and everyone just loves hearing it. I wonder if i should change my voicemail again...
British Accent Day 10+ 11
I went to visit one of my dearest friends last night in her new apartment. We were celebrating her move with wine and take out. Until it arrived she asked that I speak normally. I obliged her for a little while but it was very very hard to do actually. My mind was filled with a sort of drudgery as i did it; my normal tones have no pizazz to my own ears. She asked me what I will do when the month ends. June 30th, 11:55 pm the countdown begins... what do i do? To be honest that seems rather far off. I dont know what will happen. Im getting very comfortable with all of this; it might prove very difficult to stop, lol. Tomorrow, i will visit my godsons. The oldest, 3, gets a kick out of my accents. I love playing with them. Thats the highlight of my day tomorrow. Sunday, is another highlight; ive been invited to a small gathering of some very successful individuals. Im sure i will have some interesting stories to share with all of you. Sweet sleep Dreamers!
