PREDATOR

            Kevin Peter Hall was an American actor who was known for his height and often played tall characters on screen. He is best known for playing the Predator in the film Predator (1987 & 1990).

            Hall was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US; his family like him were also tall. During high school he succeeded in basketball and majored in Theatrical Arts at University. He then moved to Venezuela to play basketball.

            In 1986, he was cast to play the Predator alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. The character of Predator was originally to be played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who did play the Predator in a few scenes but his name wasn’t showed on the credits. Hall gained the role of the Predator as well as played the helicopter pilot at the end of the film.

            Hall was married in 1988. He contracted HIV from a blood transfusion during surgery for injuries he sustained in a car accident. He died from AIDS-related pneumonia in 1991, a month before his 36th birthday.
