PRINCE
7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
Prince Rogers Nelson was a successful singer and musician who became one of the highest-paid musical artists in the world. He was able to play 27 instruments and wrote and produced all his music. He also wrote and produced for other music artists including Sinead O’Connor. He starred in the movie, Purple Rain, which had a successful soundtrack. Prince was famous for his distinct appearance which was often sexy, with fingerless lace gloves, and high-heeled boots, and was best known for wearing the colour purple.
Prince was born in Minneapolis and was the son of musically gifted parents. During a teacher's strike in 1970, Prince aged 11 was interviewed by a news reporter. He was married twice and had one child who died not long after his birth.
In 1992 he signed a $million dollar contract with Warner Bros, he had been with Warner Bros since 1978. After he signed the deal he stated he was being restricted by the company and had been treated unfairly. In an attempt to get out of the contract, he changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol, known as love symbol. People started referring to him as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince. He would write ‘Slave’ on his face whenever he went out in public. When his contract expired he returned to the name Prince.
Prince, 57, suffered from influenza days before his death; he performed his last concert on 14 April, even though he still wasn’t feeling well. While on a flight the next morning he became unresponsive and the plane had to make an emergency landing and was hospitalized. He suffered from influenza and dehydration for several weeks. Days before he died he was seen riding his bike, shopping, attending a party, and attended a jazz performance. On the 20th a specialist was called after Prince was seeking medical help, he was scheduled to see Prince on the 22nd.
On 21 April, at 9:43 am, a 911 call requested an ambulance to Prince’s home. Emergency found Prince dead in an elevator and it was said he had been dead for at least 6 hours. Prince had been given an accidental overdose of fentanyl and it was revealed that Prince had been addicted to opioids. Prince’s ashes were made into a 3D-printed urn shaped like Paisley Park estate.

CATHERINE HOWARD
c.1523-1542
Catherine Howard was the cousin of Anne Boleyn. They were both married to King Henry VIII and they both got their heads cut off.
Catherine was 13, when she was assaulted by Henry Mannox. When she was 15, she was in a relationship with Francis Dereham which ended in 1939.
Catherine was sent to work in the household of King Henry VIII's 4th wife, Anne of Cleves. Henry wasn't hot for Anne of Cleves and wanted out of his marriage. He fell in love with Catherine, who was 17 and he was old and fat. He ended his relationship with Anne of Cleves and got married to Catherine Howard in 1540.
In 1541, Catherine fell in love with courtier Thomas Culpepper - the two would meet in private, with the help of Jane Boleyn (Anne Boleyn's sister-in-law). They were cuddling and kissing and who knows what else. Henry VIII found out about Catherine Howards past relationships, and then he found out about the present relationship Catherine had with Culpepper. Henry wasn't happy.
Catherine was arrested and imprisoned in the Tower of London.
Francis Dereham was hanged, drawn, and quartered - not a good way to die. Thomas Culpepper was beheaded.
Catherine Howard and Jane Boleyn was sentenced to death for treason. The night before her death, Howard practiced putting her head on the execution block.
Catherine Howard was beheaded on 13 February 1542 and Jane Boleyn died straight after her - she had to put her head on the execution block which was covered with Catherine's blood.
The two women were buried in Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula at the Tower of London alongside Anne Boleyn.

10050 CIELO DRIVE
The house was built in 1968.
Charles Manson visited the house in late 1968. Terry Melcher was a music producer who was living inside the home when Manson visited him, he wanted Melcher to produce his music. Melcher declined to sign him, Manson was angry and resentful and threatened him. Melcher lived in the house with actress Candice Bergen.
In 1969, Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate rented the house. Whilst Polanski was away filming a movie, Tate had her friends over, during the night Manson followers killed her and her friends, as well as a friend of the home's caretaker.
The only survivors was the caretaker who lived in a room which was separated from the main house. He wasn't aware of the crimes that took place. Two dogs which were in the house at the time, a Labrador retriever and a miniature poodle also survived.
Rudolph Altobelli a music and film producer owned the house, and moved back in after the crimes took place. He lived there for 20 years.
He sold the house in 1989. The last resident was Trent Reznor of NIN, in 1992. He made a recording studio inside where he and Marilyn Manson recorded music inside. Reznor moved out a year later due not to being able to handle the 'history of the house' and after bumping into Sharon Tate's sister. He moved out and took the front door with him which he placed in his music studio in New Orleans.
In 1994, the new owner demolished the house and built a new house and also changed the street address. The new home looks nothing like the original house.
